Yes I have, and for one of my fellow DISers. I just thought this person was a very sweet and nice individual, who had gone through a rough time. I wasn't expecting a gift in return at all, nor do I want recognition for what I did. I only wanted to bring a small amount of happiness to this person for Christmas, and really hope that my gift did that!

Actually, I'd rather buy gifts like those. I hate to buy the ones that I feel obligated to buy... or when they tell you exactly what they want and you go buy it for them. That is no fun for me.

The most fun (besides Hunter) this year was buying for 3 friends of mine! I like to buy gifts because I see something that I want to give to the person not because they are expecting it from me.

That is just the best feeling - sometimes I just see something and have to buy it because it is sooo perfect for someone I know. The next best feeling is giving it to them and seeing the pleasure and surprise .

DD just had her 4th birthday and she was so great opening the gifts - the first one, from one of her pre-school pals was a barbie doll - she opened it a said "OHHH, OHHH I wanted one of this sooo much! Thank you!" the hugged the box and then hugged her friend.

Yes, all of the time. I get a lot of pleasure seeing/hearing about how someone enjoyed a gift I got them.

It's a nice feeling, and it's so great when a gift is unexpected and you know it's going to make that person's day

In fact, one of the reasons I'm kind of down this Christmas is because I can't afford to go out and get my friends the gifts I want to get them.

A nurse I work with shares my fondness for the mythical creatures like mermaids.

I was shopping one day and came across the most beautiful mermaid ornament! I picked up one for her, and myself! She was so surprised and shocked because although I've worked with her for 9 plus years...we aren't really that close except to say "Hi" and "See ya" to!

We now have a budding friendship!
