Inspired by Mackey Mouse's film post - Gardening shows?

Do you watch any gardening programs? If so, what are they?

I love Ground Force on BBC America. I'm always amazed at the wonderful gardens they create in the drabest, bleakest looking yards! The chemistry between Alan, Charlie and Tommy is great. They are always good for a laugh.

I used to love Gardening by the Yard with Paul James, but after a while his humor really started to annoy me (don't know why!)

Also used to watch Surprise Gardener on HGTV but I was never very impressed with the "afters". The designers used some really funky and bright colored paints to accent the gardens and cover up ugly concrete walls or old fences.

Victory Garden was a gardening show I looked forward to every week, but I don't think it's on any more. If it is, I haven't seen it listed down here. Oh, the crush I had (ok, have) on <a href="http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/tvseries/bios/roger">Roger Cook</a>. Must be his accent

I watched some of the Surprise Gardner shows and I agree with you that most of the shows do over the fences and put in fountains and do some weird things but I also saw a couple of shows where the transformation was pretty good with placement of many plants. One show in particular I remember was a hill in the yard and they tiered it with rocks and plants and I thought it came out quite nice. I just wonder if the homeowners will be able to maintain them.

I also saw another program, don't know the name of it but it was same concept as another show where three designers come up with plans for a room and the homeowner has to pick one designer and they then do the work. Well, this was a single guy and he had a beautiful new house but his backyard was a wreck and they had three landscapers design a yard for him. He requested several things, privacy from certain angles, a view from another angle, something to do with a wall he had put in and something to soften the patio he put in too. He picked the landscaper I would have and the transformation was pretty stunning. Again, hope all the plants take and fill in like they said they would - but in this case, I believe they will.

Oh! And I think I've seen that Gardening by the Yard show once or twice. Yes, he is a bit much with the jokes. A little too hyper for me too.

Anything I watch is basically a hit or miss type of deal. I don't check the TV listings, just sometimes surf on the few times I'm alone and have control of the remote (and am not on the computer).

We love Ground Force.. you gotta love Tommy, Charlie and Alan. they are the best.. and inspire me in my own yard..

All I watch is BBC America...Have you seen Charlies Garden Army yet? It is on BBCA on Sunday mornings here.....Tommy is so cute and I would love to be Charlie....I'm Addicted I know!!
