I totally forgot about this, until I read Jaimee's post about donating her DS' outgrown clothes to a women's and children's shelter. Here is my 'awwww' story from the holidays:
There is a local charity here in town that had a toy drive, and the toys stayed here in town to help the local kids. We ended up with 3 pretty cool toys to donate (Rescue Heroes multi-pack w/ vehicles, Free Simba plush from Amazon, and Chutes and Ladders.) I brought DS with me, because I wanted him to start understanding about donating, and how lucky he is, and so on...
Well, this child of mine, at 6YO almost threw me for a loop. He asked why we were giving toys to the children who were not as lucky as him, didn't Santa bring them toys too???
Well, I thought quick on my feet and came up with this, which all of you parents of children who are too smart for us are free to use:
Sometimes, these children's parents do not have jobs, or much money, for things like food, or heat for the house, so Santa has to bring them those things, so people like us help out with the toys. DS totally accepted this explanation, and I kind of like it too.
Anyone else care to share their nice Holiday stories??

Kids ask some tough questions! I don't have a holiday story, but DS 5's solution to everything, like why we can't go out to eat or buy a certain toy is "why don't you just go to the bank?? (he sees me get money from the ATM and thinks it's just "there" waiting for me to take it 
I wish Santa and the ATM could solve everyone's problems
