Inspired by Ellipses..Exclamation points!

I was posting today and I noticed that just about every one of my sentences ends in an exclamation point! (you see? Theres another one) So I found myself wondering why. I'm generally not this excited in real life, so whats it about this board that brings so much xcitement to my posts? I have truly become a compulsive exclamation point groupie!

Anyone else have this revelation? Do you hate people like me for this very reason? Post and Share!

I am not fond of exclamation points. First, my journalism and public relations classes taught me to not use them very often. Second, a former coworker used exclamation points all of the time, even in press releases. Luckily, I was able to edit her documents and slay most of the offending exclamation points, but I was so tired of seeing them.

I could never hate YOU, Princess Mindy! You're exclamation points are pefectly lovely in my book. I tend to over use them myself. When I really want to emphasize a point, I'll use two or three!

Guilty!!!!!!! I think I use them in posts to really stress a point!!!!! Instead of bolding or whatever, I throw a whole bunch of exclamation points at the end!!!!!!

Sorry ... but when I normally write to friends and send emails, I don't use nearly as many exclamation points. See -- I can type a sentence w/o an exclamation point! OK -- I said A sentence, not two!!!!

As you can see from my tag to the left, I have a dash problem. I rarely use exclamation points but I'm guilty of using too many smilies to prove my points.

I don't really use exclamation points, or ellipses. I'm always worried that someone will misinterprete them. I usually just use periods and question marks.

Yep, I do the same thing. The worst part is, I know I'm doing it and I still can't stop myself!!!

I tend to overuse exclmation points. Not only here but on other boards and e-mails as well.
