Another day, another dollar. For the working folks, which does not presently include me.

I DID make some progress on my senior project, though- so hooray for me. Need to finish that.

AND, dh got a call about a graphic design job last night!!! He doesn't have it for sure yet, he had to resubmit his portfolio, and then interview, and then they might hire him on for a trial period- and if he does well/fits in, they'll hire him full time. We could sooooo use this! We were eating at Applebees when he got the call; almost too excited to finish our dinner!

And Sylvester, it's not our fault we're all pale. I've been pleading with the weather- it's just not cooperating!

My mother is the official Queen Hypochondriac. In 1988, she said to a friend of mine and I, "Geez, I have a headache. And an itchy elbow...Oh my God...Aids!" I am not making this up.

My mom usually does have "something" wrong with her- but she turns itinto something horrible and life threatening when she talks about it.

For instance. Right now she has an itchy rash on her legs, that she's had for like 3 MONTHS. She finally goes to the doctor,and he wants to put her on steroids because it's inflammation of her veins (so she says; that could be made up too- my mom is also a pathological liar). But she refuses, because she doesn't want to get fat.

Ok. He gives her steroid cream to try, but tells her it may not work. So, yesterday she calls me ten types of upset: HOW DARE her Dr. go on spring break- her legs itch, that cream doesn't work. I point out that she was the one who refused the meds that would work- and she says, "Well, I don't like taking pills" which is the biggest freaking joke because anyone who knows my mom KNOWS what a pill popper she is; and then she tells me "You, of all people, should understand that when you are going through a crisis you need the doctor to be there" (referring to my depression, which I think was a little bit more important than her itchy legs....).

A CRISIS? I wanted throw the phone. People who are suicidal are in crisis. People who have gall bladder attacks are having a medical crisis. Itchy legs are not a freaking crisis. Then of course, she looked her symptoms up on the INTERNET, and did you know this could cause a stroke!! She could be dying.

She once had a cyst on her ovary- a pretty common thing for women to have. She told everyone it was cancer. The list goes on and on... Anything for attention. It's obnoxious.

Sorry, had to vent a minute. I feel better.

We are having nice weather today. The sky is grey, but there is some sun shining through, and it is pretty warm.

Not as good as Florida, of course, but nice!


I'm so with you on the mom thing and am happy to listen to a vent. Someday you can return the favor!

I always wonder if anyone has read this thread from the beginning to the end (that hasn't been in on the thread from the beginning)- how many topics have we covered?

I like it though. It's more like a conversation among friends this way. And no getting yelled at about going OT. HA!

Reminds me of a few posters who have posted on that wondering what the topic was and wondering how we could have so many posts about my full PM mailbox. Um, it's progressed way far from that! Speaking of which, my mailbox is almost full again (I empied it out after that thread began) and I need to purge it again.

Our weather is so gorgeous--in the low to mid 70's and sunny. I have serious spring fever and I don't want to make dinner. It will be something easy. How does pasta sound?
