Inspired by Beauty: First Celebrity Crushes

All the talk about Ben got me thinking about Fred Savage who was one of my first celebrity crushes.

My very first was Kirk Cameron... I was convinced that if I sent him a letter he'd fall madly in love and want to marry me... LMAO

Lets see I also had crushes on Fred Savage, Neil Patrick Harris, Chad Allen, Luke Perry, Mark Paul Gosselar ( I actually called Saved By The Bell studio in NBC and asked for him... I was about 10 or 11 yrs old Now days I'd be considered a stalker!! yikes!)...Jordan from New Kids On the Block... LOL... I was a smidge boy crazy!

Meagan....LOL about calling the studio...what did they say..."Ummm hes not here!" ROTFLOL!

Mine very very first was Ricky Martin in his Menudo days, followed by a HUGE crush on Michael J. Fox! I was pretty faithful to Michael...LOL! I had a few posters of Kirk, Scott Baio, Ralph Macchio....oh and Sean and McKenzie Astin....but Michael had my heart!

I had Kirk Cameron posters everywhere! I would buy those big Bopper magazines and put the pictures all over my room. And I wrote to the fan clubs! LOL!

Let's see, besides Kirk I was in love with Chad Allen, Brian Bloom (anyone remember him), Joey Lawrence, and all of the NKOTB!

I also had a crush on Patrick Sawyze in Dirty Dancing until his fan club sent me a picture. He had long hair and I thought he looked GROSS!

Mark Paul came to a local Real Estate office around Halloween for whatever reason to sign autographs... we live in a relatively small town (40K people) anyways they sent me a signed copy of the whole cast in the mail.... well the little cover letter was on letterhead for the studio... so I decided I was gong to call... I got a bunch of quarters... and called from the payphone after school... I said I was his cousin... LMAO...they said he was busy and asked for my number... he never called LMAO... oh man... do I feel like a moron..

Oh man Joey... I went to an autograph signing for his CD at Target... I didnt make it to the front of the line but I got to touch his black leather jacket.

OK, I am admitting to being a fossil here, but I can remember thinking David Cassidy was just dreamy... From the movies, can anyone remember the Disney film "The World's Greatest Athlete?" Jan-Michael Vincent set my 8-year-old heart aflutter! My younger sister and her pals loved the TV Hardy Boys, Shaun Cassidy and Parker Stevenson. My daughter, 9-years old this week, loves Aaron Carter. My Mom recalls going gaga over Elvis!

Fellow DISers, please remember that Boots will be 50 on her birthday so here are my first crushes. Dean Martin Jr. of Dino, Desi, and Billy. I was so in love with him! Then at about the same time, Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits and Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere and the Raiders!!!! I also had a major crush on David McCullum of The Man from UNCLE. Alas poor Boots is dating herself!!

Elvis was the big crush and I was majorly devastated when he got married. Of course Kurt Russell from back in the Disney days - he could still come and visit anytime he wanted! Mark Lindsay was one of the hotties from high school times (wonder where he is now?). Glad to see it's not just the kids hanging out here (LOL).

I always liked musicians. My first crush was on David Cassidy, then as I got older I had a mad crush on James Taylor, Lindsey Buckingham (from Fleetwood Mac), and Jackson Browne.

Colleen Costello - I loved Jan Michael Vincent too! OMG, have you seen him lately???? S-C-A-R-Y!!! If he isn't a poster child to why one should stay away from drugs and alcohol I don't know who is!

Oh, I forgot, I also loved John Travolta for several years running. First on Welcome Back Kotter, then in Saturday Night Fever.

Boots, I have to tell you that when I was in WDW this past May I saw Mark Lindsey performing in Epcot. That was nice, but the real thrill was seeing him the next day at the Swan pool in a Speedo! The guy still has it!
