Inspired by another thread. If you suddenly died.....

I think you misunderstand. Not everyone is keeping a "secret" when they don't share info such as passwords, etc. :)
Maybe secret was the wrong word to use. Thats why I put a disclaimer in there because I knew somebody was going to take issue with that word, but it was the only word that came to mind.
secret
private
personal
not shared.
I intended no accusations at anyone, just insert the word that you're more comfortable with. :confused3

I live with a 5 year old, no husband or boyfriend, I will just be gone, but not anytime soon!!

I recognize almost everyone who says they won't be missed, I would miss those lovely signatures.

I'm a member of a smaller Disney board. I have a lot of really good friends, DH would look them up in my cell phone and call them I'm sure. But, I doubt he'd come online and tell anyone.

DD is a member here and at the other board. She might mention it. Not sure though.

Brings back an od time memory from here.......

Back years ago, maybe back in 2000 or so, when I use to visit DIS chat at night (that use to be fun, they still have chat here?), I was on for a bit while at my office late. I was getting ready to head home, said goodbye to the DIS'ers in chat, said I was heading home (it was about 10 PM). They said the normal goodbyes, and a few said to drive carefully on the way home. I joked, said, yikes, what if I don't make it home. They said, don't talk liked that, LOL. Well, anyway, when I got home, maybe 20 minutes later, I logged back into chat, this time with a user name of Ghost of Dan, and 'he' said Dan did not make it. :teeth: :scratchin :p  That did elicit a few laughs. ::yes::

I honestly don't know if DH would think to come here or not.

Hopefully some of the friends that I have made here would miss me and call him and ask what is going on.

No one would think to come here or would even know to. There are not many people here that I talk to outside of the boards and those few are people I don't talk too very often, so I doubt anyone here would know. And I know that I'm not one who would be missed since I'm not very well known around here.

No one in my family knows I post here (well I don't think they do). I don't know any DISers in real life, although I do communicate with a couple through IM. The only way you all would find out would be if my sister thought to post a message on my IM and one of the DISers that I communicate with through IM saw it and posted. But it's highly unlikely that that would happen, so I'll probably just disappear.

No one would know and I am not sure if anyone would care (no offense) with me being still so new here and all.....

I would also pass unnoticed, but I don't really consider that sad. IRL my dh and some friends know I post here. However, I think notifying you all would really be the last thing they would be thinking of. If I develop close friendships here I will make arrangements for them to be notified, otherwise I will continue in relative annonymity.

I've taken breaks here before, it'd be no different - just longer!

Nope, I don't think anyone would notice if I was gone. My dh knows I post here but he would probably never think to post if I died.

Nope, none of my peeps would know to come here. They knew I posted before trips, but they don't know I'm still on here every day.

I would like to think that eventually my DH would log into my email and let my email buddies know, some of which are DISers. But I really don't know for sure.

Up until this just happened, I had never thought about this either. My family knows I post, but they don't know what websites to go to.

I have now exchanged my personal info with a few of my online friends. They will notice if I'm not here and I'm sure they will call if they are concerned. I'm positive now that if something would happen, they would notify everyone else.

It is a good idea to let someone know what to do. Never in my life did I think I would actually find real friends on the internet, but I was wrong. When you post almost daily (as alot of us do) and you share personal stories, sorrows, and exciting events...you come to feel like you really know these people and you do care about them.

Some of you have said that no one will notice if you stop posting. I'm sure that's not true. There are ALOT of posters who I recognize, remember things they post and will wonder where they have been, if they disappear. Just because I may not have PM'd with them or personally posted with them, does not mean I wouldn't miss their posts. I'm sure that is the case with alot of people here.

I have a real life friend who is a member of the DIS, so I am sure she would post of my passing. Other then that, no, not on this board.

I do belong to a small group, we have been together since 1999/2000. We were all due with our babies in March of 2000. We do get concerned with MIA's and have all gotten phones calls at one point or another, so I am sure they would find out.

I was just thinking about this question, this morning.
My husband knows that I come on a board related to Disney things, but that's about it. So, I don't think anyone would know what happened to me.

Nope. No one would post if I died. No one knows which boards I frequent and I don't have any close friends here.

Well, the disboards comes up as my homepage and I never sign out so technically my dh or kids could post under my name but would they think about it and actually do it? Probably not.

I think about several of you guys frequently when I haven't seen posts in a while.

Blondy876, I remember you used to have your adorable dd in your signature - the infant with the most incredible eyes. What a cutie. BTW, I love that little "karaoke" smilie!!
