Inspired by another thread. Diser's going the 3rd week in September check in here!!

Oh, and welcome all newcomers to the post! :wave2:

Pin trading- in all my trips, and years going to one of my favorite places on earth. I have never understood, or participated. It does sound fun though. Tell me Mickeysaver where is the best place to get these pins. Can you explain the concept to me. TIA :p

we will be at the poly from the 6th to the 20th, does that count as the 3rd week. oh how do you make your timer go quicker?

We will be there Sept 16-23 staying at Pop. This is a sisters only trip.
Me(29) and Dsis (20). We are very excited. I have started packing and I am going to go shopping this weekend to pick up a few last minute items (new wardrobe, crocs, bag) :rotfl: This is my first trip staying for a week. I have been a few times (one day visits only) and then 4 days last year.

I am shopping for my trial sized stuff and got all of that done tonight. I have to pack in secret so I'll be doing some packing in my little shed alone tomorrow. Can't wait till it gets closer.

Hiya MinnieMouse. I have never booked a fantasmic package. None of those restaurants appealed to me. So, I usually have dinner early at 50's primetime. Then head over to fantasmic 30-35 minutes prior to show start. I always get a seatin the middle about 6 seats up from the lowest one. I have arrived as late as 25 minutes prior, and got 5 seats in the lower mid section. I say to be safe. Just arrive 35 minutes early. Oh, and that is my favorite show. Have a great time!!

Thanks, 50's Prime Time was my second choice, but they are booked up as well!!! The very nice CM on the phone told me that it is probably due to the free DDP that many people are taking advantage of right now. I figure I can always keep trying...in any case we plan to have a great time, I can't wait to see the show and stay late for EH that day! :Pinkbounc

Your welcome. :goodvibes Don't give up!! I love 50's. Thier peanut butter and jelly shakes, to die for. I am looking for a later dinner. I could only get a 4:05. I would like a 5:30. If possible. But, if not. Oh well. I will keep calling back 10 days everyday before I leave. Sometimes people cancel. Also keep an eye on the post. Cancelled adr's. Have a great day!

I'll be there 9/15-9/19. I'm flying solo - my mom bailed out on me. So I'm looking forward to a nice long weekend at WDW. Oh, and I'm going to MNSSHP on 9/15.

Ah, pin trading. I never thought that I would ever get into a hobby that cost so much or looked so stupid.....well, that's what I thought when I first saw that pin trading/collecting even existed back in 1996 at the Olympics here in Atlanta. I thought it was about the dumbest thing that I ever did see.

Fast forward about 5 years.....
Full blown Disney addiction had settled in on me. I was looking for a new Disney hobby that would give us something fun to do at Disney outside of running from ride to ride. Pin trading seemed reasonable enough, but I still doubted that I would ever have that many pins.

Fast forward about 5 more years to present day....
We have over 500 pins. Mostly Stitch, Patriotic, Timon & Pumbaa, Jessica Rabbit, little green men from Toy Story, and pins from our trips to WDW. I do some trading on PinPics.com and at some local meets a couple of times a year. But, my favorite thing is trading with the CM's at WDW. It's a neat way to meet the people that make the magic.

Now, most of my own personal pins, I started out by purchasing lots of cheap traders off of eBay and traded up to what I wanted. I also collect pins for the kids that go on the Bert's Big Adventure charity trip every year. Pin traders have big hearts! Otherwise, I could never have managed to have spoiled the kids that went on the BBA trips over the last 3 years....we are talking 100+ pins and many lanyards each year! We have a big batch of donated pins that I need to trade out with the CM's during our trip. The CM pin trading on this trip is all about Bert's kids....and meeting some neat CM's.

I will be purchasing pins for our personal collection during our stay too. It's a hobby that I never intended to have gotten this far into, but it is a lot of fun and I wouldn't trade the experiences and friendships for anything. Maggie

You know Mickeysaver. This is the first time. I clicked on your link to Berts Big adventure. I have tears in my eyes now. You know life, I take it for granted day to day. But those children in that links have such hearts of gold. The things they have to deal with from day to day. Wow. You are such a blessing, to donate to that cause!

Awww...we all take life for granted. I found the radio station that sponsors this charity about the same time that the first BBA trip took place. They broadcasted the send off, one day while they were there from MGM, and the last day. I was crying like a baby every morning! The families are always such sweet people and more than anything, you can tell they are just addicted to their kids....like everyone should be. The fact that BBA is in my backyard, deals with kids, and it's got a Disney connection.....how could I not adopt this charity and try to find a way to spoil the kids?!?!

While we here on the DIS are blessed to be able to afford a trip to WDW, those families could not have ever managed to have taken the trip without this charity. All kids deserve a little pixie dust. These kids deserve more than just a little pixie dust and BBA brings lots of it to them.

I am just a small time supporter of the charity. I hope that every once in a while that someone, like you, will click that link and see exactly just how wonderful this charity is. Thanks for looking! We all need a reality check now and then....these kids will definately help you out in that department. Maggie

PS. Sorry for hijacking the thread.....back to the topic....what was the topic again? :teeth:

we're with you all ........ 9/23 -10/14 at the Poly.
No dining plan, as at the time it was released I'd have had to lose my discounts .... not good!

Cannot wait now, it really is happening.

I got my ressies at 50's PTC!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I had to go for a late lunch and two seperate tables, but at least we have something now! I am so excited! I'm told its much more fun to go there with kids, and we are eating with a family who has three, so I can't wait for all the antics, etc...The guys will be coming from a conference, so we'll get there early and see if they can put the two tables next to each other... This is going to be great! :yay:

Mickeysaver. It is true, that we all need a little reality. And you are so right, about that site. Giving that, and putting things back into perspective. It is a great charity!! The topic, is us going to be in disneyworld in less than a month. I really cannot believe. I only have a few short weeks left. I now feel, as though. I am running behind time. As, I have yet to go and get the last minute stuff on my list. It seems as though, I think of more things to want to pack daily. :confused3 I have given myslf a cut off date, to be all packed. The 10th. But for some reason. I dont feel organized, this late in the game. I dont know why. :confused3

Minnie Mouse!! I am so happy for you!!. Do not leave there without trying the vanilla peanut butter and jelly shake. Or at least having someone you dont mind sharing with get it so you can taste it. I remember reading about it, and thinking yuck, peanut butter and jelly shake. But, I got enough nerve to try it. Oh my goodness. I have been waiting since I booked this trip, to try it again!! I am happy for you, and your party. You will have a blast!! :cheer2:

Welcome all newcomers

Thanks! Yea, I guess a PB&J shake does sound funny, but I love the sandwich, so maybe DH will split one with me...that is, if I'm not so greedy to want one all to myself! :joker:
We have not started any real packing yet, but yesterday we laid out some outfits on the bed so we could get an idea of what we still needed. Then I dragged DH to the mall (he calls it Kryptonite for men...) and got him a new pair of shorts. I was supposed to be looking for capris and T's, but you know girls...I ended up with some really great work tops! princess: :teeth:
This annoys DH to no end, until he overheard another couple arguing about how much clothing the wife was buying...he told me he wanted to go over and support the other husband's argument...luckily I stopped him. :lmao:
No, seriously, he is a very good sport and puts up with a lot from me, but I think that I will hold off on any more Disney shopping for a while! :groom:

MinnieMouse- I hear ya. My hubby puts up with alot from me too. He use to go out to the malls, and shopping with me. But, now he just says only spend 100 dollars today honey. I am serious. He refuses to shop with me. When I come home, and I have spent 175, he just shakes his head. He is a good hubby. :thumbsup2

Anyhow, I don't know what size you are. Or if you have a fashionbug store near you. But, they are having a clearance on them. I paid like 4.00 for a pair of capris, and the racks were still full, of them. Not trying to get you in trouble with the hubby, just wanted to give you a tip ;)

P.S. You may just love the pb&j shake. So much. Just make sure you try it!! :thumbsup2

For those interested in the weather. At our state fair there was a booth from the national weather service. To check forcasts the site is www.weather.gov It is a pretty cool site. There is a tropical depression but it is not too organized yet but there is some info on that storm on the site. I think the forcasts go for 7 days out.
