doesn't really mean that you don't want to be around other people? I looked it up today and it means stuff like a total disregard for the law and other's feelings and such. So, I was wondering, what is the proper terminology for one who just doesn't want to socialize?
Any idea?

Antisocial Disorder is an actual psychological disorder which includes those things that you listed (although experts debate whether it is a true disorder or not.) Maybe nonsocial would be a better word (not against society but just not wanting to socialize.)

Introvert means that your energy comes from within yourself- not that you don't like being around others. Nonsocial or unsociable works for me. In terms of psychopathology, both Schizoid Personality Disorder and the more bizarre Schizotypal Personality Disorder involve a detachment from interpersonal relationships.

Many people with antisocial personality disorder actually come off as being quite social - they can be quite charming and master manipulators.

i had this very discussion with my not-so-dear brother-in-law some years ago and the relationship hasn't recovered yet! he was used to being the 'smart one' in the family, so he thought, and was very vocal about it...imagine his surprise when i had the nerve to correct him, lol! those years of working in mental health really did come in handy!
