insp.by 2anglesinheaven...When do you take your tree down?

DH always wants to take it down on the 26th. When we had a real tree we usually did because it was about dead. I'd leave the rest of the decorations up for a while though. Last year we got a fake tree and I left it up until New Years Eve even though DH complained about it the whole time (why I don't know because he doesn't help me take it down). Doing the same this year though!

We always leave it up for the 12 days of Christmas, so it doesn't come down until after Epiphany in early January.

I try to leave everything up until Epiphany, but sometimes I get antsy and take down everything except the manger scenes and Christmas cards.

When I was a kid, ours would sometimes stay up until early February (fake trees only).

Now DH and I have a deadline of my birthday (Jan 22). We usually take it down sometime in the second week of January though (still fake trees only - lousy allergies).

Ours goes up on Dec 6th. The day after my daughters birthday.
I never wanted her to feel that christmas was more important then her birthday! So once the birthday decorations come down, the tree goes up.
And we take it down on or around Jan 1st.

We usually put it up a couple weeks before Christmas and take it down on New Years Day. I love to sit at home on New Years Eve, get fun take out food, and play family board games beside the still beautiful Christmas tree until the ball falls!

ours gets taken down during the first week of January

I take it down New Years day. Kind of coincides with the end of the holidays and back to work.

The weekend closest to New Year's day.

When I was single and still at home it went up on the 17th - right between my mom's birthday and mine (16th and 18th) and came down the day after New Years.

Now that I am married - we have kept the 17th 'tradition' of putting it up and the take down happens little by little the week following New Years, since I usually have to did it on my own!!

This year tho - it's going up early - beginning of December!

Mine goes up the first week or 2 in Dec and comes down about a month later. I once had a neighbor who gave her DH and DDs ONE simple task. Take down the tree. She took down the rest of the decorations and there were a LOT. Come May of that year, the lovely (artificial) tree could still be seen glowing in the front window. By then she was proving a point. She vowed to do NOTHING else for her family until they did this one tiny thing for her. No laundry, no cooking, no cleaning, no driving them to school, no whoopee for the DH. The tree came down 4 days later.

about 10 years ago I had to stop at my then bosses house to pick something up, it was the end of Feb and they still had their tree up ( and it was a real one) because no one would take it down. I wonder if its still up???? LOL
