Insider knowledge on Hallmark Corporate Stores

Hoping MeanLauren or someone is around that knows what the discount will be at the Hallmark Corporate stores on Dec 26th. I know they vary sometimes and want to know which store I should go to first TIA

I'm not MeanLaureen but I do play her husband on a Disney message board.

I asked her and she said the discount across the board will be 40% off - the usual suspects, Boxed cards, wrap, Keepsake ornaments. The majority of the gifts have already been discounted 40% so there will not be a further discount. Yankee is already at 40%.

She also said that Illuminations will NOT be on sale except for the 3 "Night Before Christmas" ornaments. You will still get a free powerbox even with the discount.

The promo items like Michael McDonald and the cookie platter will be 40% off the promo price.

She did say that they are marking down a ton of everyday items in preparation for 1st quarter. Most of their albums, frames, a good amount of plush, jewelry, collectibles, etc.

Thanks! Great information. It seems like they weren't 40% last year but I couldn't remember. What I really like are the $1, $3 etc sales. I'll buy almost anything for $1. One of the corportate stores has a few ornaments I need so I'll make it my first stop. I tend to be in the stores lots in Jan, really great deals.

Janette - I remember one year Hallmark decided to only do 25% off on their ornaments. Poor Lauri took such a public beating for that. Boy did they learn. They would have had 450 manager calling in sick all on the same day had they pulled that again!

Then one year they offered 50% and a lot of the Independants griped about it so they were pressured to go back to the 40%.

Do you want me to ask Lauri to give you heads up on when product is going down in Corporate stores? I know that sometimes they are surprised with markdowns overnight but on major ones she usually knows a few days ahead of time.

A heads up would be wonderful, they have some really great sales in Jan but they do seem to sneak up. Thanks again.

Yes, I can see that 25% is crazy. We only have one independent now that does 50% and I like the owners so I shop there most of the time but they don't have much left this year.

There are at least 6 corporate stores around, most of the independents have closed in the last several years.
