I just wanted to mention to those who are considering flying out of BUF for the first time, there is a neat indoor kids play area by the boarding gates. It is a few minutes walk before the Southwest gates.
I thought I had researched our Dec/2004 trip very well and had NO idea about the play centre. We were at the airport early for our flight, got through security super fast and had nothing to do for at least an hour. Well low and behold, I'm walking to the Independence Air gate and what did the kids spot, a nice sized play center. Needless to say, they had a blast while DH and I relaxed. I would say it would be ideal for kids aged 2-8.
IMHO, BUF is awesome in so many ways compared to YYZ.

at YYZ. Airports sure aren't toddler friendly!
!!! I wish they had a play area as that would sure blow off some steam before they have to sit on the airplane for almost 3 hours. I am seriously considering doing the Buffalo airport next year when we go on the March Break. My only concern is that Buffalo has a tendency to get a lot of bad weather ... is it anymore of a concern than at Pearson?? Not only for outgoing flights, but I also worry about us having to get there if it is bad weather! How far in advance do they start selling seats? Would it be this fall, late August?
