(insert witty thread title here)7 days of Disney Dining! Review with pics!

Our last day :(

It was back to Epcot to complete what was not done Day 1. We hot rope drop and went on Mission Space and Test Track with no waits. My plan was to then cross over the living with the Land because we really love the greenhouses and it's a peaceful boat ride. While walking through, DH mentions about this ride with dinosaurs and big big cars...Ellen's Energy Adventure I wonder? Yes! He says, are we going there?

Well...it wasn't on my plans since it's long but if you love it sure why not?

So cross back over to the park again and ride Ellen. We leave and head to Club Cool to try to sodas (Had actually never done this before) Loved China!!!
He actually tried the Beverly and didn't grimace...but he liked bitter beer and said it was similar to a beer he's not fond of. I was surprised he finished a full cup of it.

So then we went to the UK for some fish and chips to share. These are the closest to what we serve here. Very tasty but not quite at mom's level...alas she is not going for thousands.

After going through world showcase we then headed out to the GF for our afternoon tea. I was looking forward to this for months and was not disappointed.

We were seated and had the menu explained to us. We decided to share a Buckingham tea and have an order pot of tea for DH. My one issue was that I know you don't have to dress up but do you need to wear your PJ bottoms?

The girl next to us was in PJ bottoms, a t-shirt and didn't put her phone away the entire time.

DH ordered the triple black tea (described to us as a breakfast tea but with more gusto) As a daily drinker of orange pekoe he really enjoyed it.

I went with the Mad Hatter blend which was fantastic. It had a smooth quality to it. DH tried a cup after his was gone and described it as "this is not tea, this is hot juice! How can you call this tea??"
To each his own...

For the sandwiches I had been initially planning to try them all but my acid issues were acting up again so I went with only pear and gorgonzola and cucumber and watercress. These were amazing! They had a lightness to them. I'm sure a regular person would eat them in 1 or 2 bites...I was about 5 but delicious! The onion tartlet was a little taste of heaven. I wish there were more of these on the plate!

DH ate the scone with the cream...he described the cream as a very tasty butter and the scone was moist and flaky. He gobbled it up. I got the strawberry tart and enjoyed it very much. The crust was not super dry like you get sometimes and had the right amount of sweetness to it.

We finally each chose a dessert. DH went with the hazelnut cheesecake. He's not a cheesecake fan but he said this had a special quality to it and he would actually eat more cheesecake if it could taste like this.

I went with the swan which had a peach filling today. OMG...nom nom nom
It melted in my mouth and I was in another place...a happy place.

Service was fantastic. We had a lovely chat with our server and at the end they gave me a pink rose for our anniversary. Since we were leaving the next day when we returned to Epcot I gave it to a little girl who was watching me while we were in Mexico. She couldn't take her eyes off it so I asked if she would like to be the princess.

Her mother couldn't believe it and was very appreciative.

So we then finished up Epcot and prepared to fly home.

That's it! I have no idea on costs saved or anything. We ate what we liked and for the most part had very enjoyable experiences. Next time we're hoping to travel with a few couples and families (fingers crossed we get one too ;)) so our plans will be very different.

Hope you enjoyed reading and viewing!

Great reviews! I'm sorry to hear about your acid reflux giving you so much trouble on your trip. I have a stomach disorder called gastroparesis and acid reflux is a huge problem with it so I know what your going through  I know you said you didnt have any idea of prices etc. but do you know if the afternoon tea at GF can be done with the dining plan at all or approx. how much it was? I love tea and I am thinking about doing this on our trip next October.

YUMMY!!!

I am going to alot of the places you reviewed! Thanks for all the pics and details!:thumbsup2

Afternoon tea is NOT on the DDP.

It was $6.75 about per extra pot of tea. one was included with the package. Our package was the lowest of the packages. I'm thinking around $20.00

Thanks for the empathy...it's not fun when it rears it's ugly head. DH said I nature's cruel joke. I planned and planned, love looking at the food pics...but when it came time to eat them they didn't like me.

Interesting report and pics - nice to see different options.

Afternoon tea looks lovely - we are going in October.
