(Insert Witty Dining Review Title Here) June 17-24 (updated 8/5)

Ahh your Le Cellier fiasco leaves me anxious! I hate being in those situations of running late for an ADR. There is so much uncertainty and stress that comes along with it :sad2: I'm glad you enjoyed your meal, though!! I LOVE the chocolate moose... it's one of my favorite Disney desserts! I would love to try that chocolate cake.. but the moose would always be my first choice. So, I'd have to have someone else order it

That cake ..... is awesome. Truly and completely awesome. For realz. You should order it next time. Or get your Mom to order it so you can have a bite.

I'm kinda sad we aren't going to Le Cellier for our Thanksgiving trip. But I really want to try new places and not go to the same ones. Plus, I get to have that soup at Food and Wine when we go at the end of September.

Finally catching up with your dining review. It's great!

Have a question about ADRs. Places like Le Cellier are very hard to get, but then you mention that they were taking walk-ups when you were there. Do they leave a certain number of tables open for walk-ups? Or is it dependent on cancellations or time of day? Or is it just the random whim of pixie dust that sometimes allows people without ADRs to eat at the popular restaurants? :tinker:

Look forward to reading more.

I have never been to Tusker House and have read so many reviews raving about how great it is for breakfast I wondered if I should make an ADR there instead of Bomas where I have been and simply love the breakfast buffet. I no longer am doubting my choice of Bomas since you did not find it as amazing as others seem to. Now if I had kids I more than likely would go there but it is just DH and myself in October.

Wolfgang Puck Express looks good especially the pizza, as of now if we do a second trip to DTD I plan on CS and WPE is on the list of places for sure after reading your review.

Glad to hear you were able to be seated at Le Cellier. I hope I do not have any late encounters for our ADRs this trip. I still need to sit down and map out our transportation options since we will be dependant on Disney, not having a car.
I changed our dinner ADR to a lunch at Le Cellier, I am not a steak person but DH is and I think should be happy with the filet at lunch(I hope)
I am looking forward to trying the cheese soup, have never been to Le Cellier before it looked yummy, although I may just try it at F&W Festival instead.
That whiskey cake looks devine

Love your DS blue tongue

Thanks again for taking the time to write the reviews

Yay !! i am so glad you came over from the TR to join in !!

This was our first time on the Dining Plan, so I could not tell you anything about ADR's vs. Walk-ups. Our ADR for that day was for 11:30 AM and we got there right at noon. They said there might be a wait when they let us in, but we were seated right away. I would say that it is easier for parties of two to get a table out of the blue than a large party. We were lucky that day and we are people that are always on time. But the DVC tour took FOREVER and NOT, I repeat NOT, the hour and a half time they quote you. It took 2 1/2 to 3 hours easy. So we left Saratoga Springs at 11:00 AM and had to stop back and get our passes so we could get into Epcot to eat at Le Cellier. It all worked out well, though.

I would encourage you to keep Boma as well. I have never been to Boma, but we just thought Tusker house was just ...OK. Maybe we were still to full from our amazing dinner at California Grill the night previous. I dunno.

WPE was very good. I was surprised that it was so small and I had thought that there was more on the menu. Maybe the Cafe next door is the CS spot everyone talks about so much. We might check it out in November and see. Anyway, the pizza was very good and there was plenty of food. Desserts were good, too.

Le Cellier was VERY good and we all enjoyed it. I definitely plan on going back. You can check menus out on allears.net and see what you might want to order if you don't like steak much. I pretty much knew what I was going to order at each restaurant before we even left the house. :lmao::rotfl:
Plus, I had to check and see if there was anything the kids would eat. The cheese soup and chocolate cake are sooo good !! I know that you will love it.

DS LOVES those blue slushies and it has become our Disney picture that we always take of the kids. The ones with the blue tongues.

Thanks for reading a taking the time to comment !!

We had planned to go to DTD and try Earl of Sandwich, but we just wanted to stay in for a while longer. So DH offered to drive up to Good’s to Go which was the counter service at OKW and came back with this.

A burger for DS

Chicken nuggets for DD

And a hot dog for me

The kids almost never eat everything so DH just finished up what they didn’t eat and had a bite or two of my hot dog.

For dessert, we got

Chocolate cake for me

DD ended up eating this later on in the week.

A rice krispie Mickey Bar which DD loved !!

Look how tired she looks. My poor baby.

And a pack of cookies which I didn’t get a picture of.

Anyway, the food was good and convenient.

After dinner, we headed out to see La Nouba - which was awesome - then hit the sack hard when we got back about 8:30 PM.

Enjoying your reviews!

Looks like the WPE you went to was on the West Side. There is another location on The Marketplace side that has a more extensive menu.

:)

:welcome: And THANKS for letting me know about WPE. I had no clue there was another one !! And after seeing the menu and reading several dining reviews, I was kinda wondering about the place we actually ate at. I was thinking there would be more food and that the place would be bigger, And that the cashier would be nicer. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: So thanks to you, now I know :thumbsup2 We will definitely hit that next time. The pizza was really good at the place we ate this time.

Good plan! I think I will :thumbsup2
And I know... I'm not going there for Christmas either :( It's sort of a "once in a while restaurant." I am always happy when I go there, but it's not a top priority. I will miss it, however. it's really good  Oh well. Next next time

I've only been to Le Cellier once, but I loved it! So glad you had a pleasant experience there as well.

I love the garden in the Canada pavillion too!! I believe it was modeled after the Butchart Gardens in British Columbia, which I was lucky enough to visit once!!

Once we got there and got seated, I was able to enjoy it. The kids asked about last night at supper and asked when we are going back again. Since our next trip is FREE accommodations, I tried to get DH to agree that we would stay at our FREE place until Thursday, and then maybe move to a DVC resort for the remainder of the stay. He said no .... pout. I'll work on him though ....

I think that the Canada pavillion definitely has the nicest landscaping. I just love all of the colors. And I love the waterfall, too. I totally wish i could make my yard look like that :rotfl::rotfl2:

oooh... I need to go and really review the F&W booth menu list... what a great idea... mmm I can taste that soup already....wonder if I can get a pretzel break stick to go with it!!
Such great reviews... I hope your next trip is awesome... you have to let us know about your plans!!
ooh.. and I get it I'm from the midlands originally... there is NO breeze at all at your place and just 100 degrees and steamy-hot! stay cool!

When we were at Le Cellier in February, our awesome server told us that you can order the cheese soup and pretzel bread TO GO at the check in podium!!! I plan on doing that in September when I go with my sis - we'll grab that, a nice Canadian beer at the kiosk, and then find a nice place to sit near the water. Can't wait!!

I don't think you get a breadstick at F&W. It was yummy anyway !!

Thanks !! I know our next trip will be awesome. Isn't Disney always awesome ?? :rotfl: We leave in 58 days. I am getting excited !! I guess I will do another TR. For fun. It is fun !! Seriously, it is like online scrapbooking - without the mess :lmao:. And it is so much fun to share.

I know .... no breeze. I had a roommate in college that was from Charleston and we rented an apartment off campus, so we had it year round. She left every summer (and paid me rent to save her spot, we had an awesome location in Five Points) and went back home to Charleston because she said at least there they had a breeze. I think everyone hates the midlands in the summer. It really is relentless. Another 100 degree day, today and every time I go outside, my glasses fog up immediately. We won't see any relief for about 6 more weeks. UUUGGGHHH !!

Actually, I did this on my January B-day trip. I tell all about it in my TR "Disney Makes My Butt Happy". Got a cup of soup and a stick of pretzel bread for about $10. It was soooo yummy !!

Today was our water park day. Our plan was to have breakfast at Olivia’s at the resort and then head over to the water park. But we took a detour after B-fast to sign up for DVC. 320 points !!!:yay::woohoo::dance3:

We got up and headed up to Olivia’s for breakfast. We had an ADR, but we were literally the only people here at this time. More people came in as we ate, but the restaurant never got full.

We got seated and J’nette was our server. She was good.

We never had bad service except for the girl a Wolfgang Puck’s Express. She was just a nasty person. Seriously, if your job makes you so unhappy, get another one. I know that is easier to say than to do, but don’t take your bad day out on me. I was surprised she still had a job. Oh, sorry, rant over.

Anyway, J’nette was great and service was good.

Coffeeeeee !!!

100_2486.jpg

An essential start to any day.

100_2495.jpg

DD ordered Mickey Waffles

100_2499.jpg

It came with bacon, too, but she had already eaten it.

We were all dressed for the water park. This is her cover-up that she calls her “towel dress”. She comes up with the funniest names for things. They are so frank and obvious, but funny anyway. She calls her bathing suit cover-up her “towel dress”, she calls Target the “circle store” and she calls tights “sock pants”. And just the other day she told me she wanted a purse dog. I was like "What?" And she says, "you know one of those little doggies you can carry in your purse, a purse dog". Seriously, she cracks me up.

100_2493.jpg

I had my “towel dress” on as well, but I wore a T-shirt over it.

DS ordered pancakes.

100_2500.jpg

It came with eggs and ham. He and I ate the eggs, but no one touched the ham. Not that it wasn’t good, we just didn’t eat it. DS likes ham, but I think the grill marks on it turned him off of it.

Syrup and butter

100_2487.jpg

DH ordered the breakfast platter.

100_2498.jpg

It had eggs, sausage, potatoes and a biscuit.

I just shared with everyone and it worked out well. We saved a lot of food credits this way and as a result we feel like we wasted less food and got to eat at more places.

Congrates on the 320 DVC Points!!!

What resort will you call home?

Olivias was not busy when we went there either which was a good thing since we did not have ADRs. We loved the breakfast, I had some serious yummy kind of french toast. And our lunch there also was good and as you observed service A+

We bought into Saratoga Springs, because they had the lowest maintenance fees. I so can't wait to try out all of the DVC resorts !!

Yes, Olivia's made our top three restaurants for the week. It was a very solid go to place for sure. We would definitely go back !!

I would do the same why pay the higher per point cost and maintenence fees. :thumbsup2 I would also love to stay in the treehouse so since it is your home resort you can book those at 11months.

Yes, the treehouses really appealed to DH who has older children from a previous marriage. We thought we could bring everyone and have a fun trip. They are lots of fun to hang around. I can't wait to try out all of the resorts. So many fun times ahead for us !!

Congrats and Welcome Home, neighbor! :goodvibes

I'm assuming you own DVC at Saratoga Springs ?? DD can't wait to stay there. She just loves horses !!

Fall is may favorite, too !! I hope you guys get some rain soon !!

Our next trip is at the end of September. And it is at an off-site resort Silver Lake through RCI. We got that week free when we booked a cruise through RCI. So, as much as I would like to stay at a Disney resort and have the dining plan ... you just can't beat free. So we are just going to have breakfast at our resort (2br full kitchen), eat CS at the parks and either eat in at the resort, or hit some of the many chain restaurants in the area.

But for November .... our Thanksgiving trip ..... our ADR's are:

Captain's Grille
Cape May Cafe
Via Napoli at Epcot
50's Prime Time
Kona Cafe
Crystal Palace.

Soooooo exciting !!

So, I'm getting caught up, and ran across your Nov. ADRs. I advise you to stick with the pizza at Via Napoli. We went last Oct. and I got something other than pizza..chicken parm I think.. and it left a lot to be desired. Far better food at Olive Garden. Perhaps it is better now. Via Napoli had only been open a few weeks when we went.

Also as a side note, the walk up pizza window they have outside Via Napoli is not the same pizza as inside. I don't get it. DD and I stopped there last March to grab some dinner, and the pizza was this extremely thick crust cheese laden number. I love a think crust, but this stuff was ridiculous. I don't know why they just didn't slice up the stuff they make inside. It was very odd.
