Hey all! For those of you who followed my (usually) slow PTR, thanks for joining me here! If you didn't read my PTR, click HERE and you can head over.

Good news: Dad has mailed my pics. It only took 6 CDs to contain them all.

Let's get down to basics here in this 1st post while we wait for the pics to arrive.

Dates of Trip: Aug 14-21

Celebrating: The 1st anniversary of my 29th b-day, and Conner's first trip.

Cast:
Beka (myself) age 30
Nursing school student who desperately needed this vacation, loves Disney & Christmas

DH, Kyle, 30
Manager who loves football, well, most sports, but especially football. UK Wildcat fan.

DS, Conner, 1yo
Is mastering walking, saying "bye-bye", has finally found a love for Mickey.

Kyle's mom, Shirley (aka Mamaw)
The reason this trip happened. She loves to travel & she's been wanting to take us to WDW for a while & our schedules finally meshed.

(I promise I'll have better & more recent pics of her when the CDs come)

Kyle's dad, Neil (aka Papaw)
The man who drives Shirley on her many travels. He'd be just as happy sitting on his spot of the couch reading a book, or tending to his tomatoes.

My mom, Edith (aka Nana)
Always burns her candle at both ends. Firmly believes that idle hands are the Devil's playground, she works full time and does Southern Living at Home & Mary Kay, plus she sews on the side.

My dad, Ron (aka Poppy or Papa)
Wood carver, shelf builder (I think that's somewhere in my PTR), all-around handy man. Dad has numerous health issues, but he did good on this trip.

Can't forget who we left at home:
Matches
Basenji/JRT/??? mix. Spoiled rotten, and he loves it. He's the boss (or so he thinks). Is obsessed with tennis balls and food.

Booger
Basenji/??? mix. He was rescued from a shelter when he was a young dog (but full grown), and completely appreciates being saved. He adores garbage, and spreading coffee grounds into my carpet is his favorite past time.

YAY! I can't believe your trip is in 2 weeks. One of my friends is on her way down right now! UGH! I want her to pick me up on her way down and then you and Jen can drop me off on your way home.

I saw a show today on Fine Living Network on how to do WDW on $1600. Let me tell you, it was all I could do not to get all choked up. I miss Mickey!

Oh my goodness, your Conner is so cute!! I have a 4 year old grandson who is Connor also.

Congratulations on making it so far through nursing school while having a child!! One of my friends got preggers during 1st semester and when she had the baby she only took three days off from school! I felt so sorry for her during clinicals!

Edited to add that when I was about 8 my Dad researched for months before he decided to get us a dog. He got us a Besenji, from a breeder. This dog was whaco crazy and I loved him with my whole heart!! Since he was all Besenji he never barked and had the curly tail. SO cute and SO crazy!!!

Congratulations on making it so far through nursing school while having a child!! One of my friends got preggers during 1st semester and when she had the baby she only took three days off from school! I felt so sorry for her during clinicals!
My sister had my 2nd nephew during her spring break of nursing school & had a 4yo at home! People asked me if I was going to take time off school, but I figured I wouldn't know any different, so why wait?

Ok, I am ready for more TR now.



I can't believe we're at 2 weeks. Two weeks from today I will probably be at DTD doing some shopping! Seems like we do that first thing every trip.....

I roll over in bed to look at the clock. Surely I’ve gotten enough sleep, I feel rested. 1:30. AM?! Ugh. Three hours before the alarm goes off. “There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow… hmm hmm hmm” What time is it now? 2am. Fabulous.

I finally drift back to sleep.

For 20 minutes. “Lalala …on the open road!”

WHY do you get a song stuck in your head when you’re trying to sleep?

BANG BANG BANG. “Pssst, Beka, let me in!” Oops, Kyle’s locked out. (He works late on Thursday nights, even before a Disney trip.) I haul myself out of bed and let him in, praying that the dogs don’t bark and wake everyone else (i.e. Conner) up.

3:30am I finally drift off. For 30 minutes. Awake again. I’m now humming some song from Hercules in my head.

4:15am. It’s too early for the alarm, but what the heck, I’m getting up anyway. Time to brew some liquid awakeness and in the shower I go.

After I shower and have a few moments to myself with the DIS & my coffee cup, the rest of the house starts to wake up. We wait until the last minute to wake Conner, as he doesn’t usually wake before 7am & the plan was to leave at 6am.

Let me give you a back story here.
The day before we left, I was frantically searching for a white, jersey tee-shirt onesie for Conner to wear with his super special outfit that my mom made for him. The local craft store usually carries these, so we headed there. Kyle came with me, insisting that he gets a red t-shirt for the trip. Mind you, he already has a plain red tee. Ok, whatever. No dice for Conner’s shirt, but Kyle picks up one. Well, as I’m packing later that night, I can’t find Kyle’s shirt. Anywhere. I called him, & he said he had taken care of it. I didn’t worry any further, because I didn’t have time to at that point.
Oops, I have to interject something at this point as well. I get super excited about Disney, Christmas, and whatever else I can manage. Kyle, on the other hand, gets excited about 2 things: football, & uh, well… ahem. Needless to say, he wasn’t showing much excitement for this trip, but I was surprised when we were watching the planning DVD & he indicated that there were some things that he wanted to do.
Back to the story. So I get Kyle up, he showers, & run around the house packing last minute stuff, putting my WDW or Bust signs in the car (see pic) and loading up Conner’s stuffed animals into the back window. Kyle passed me in my mad frenzy wearing a shirt I didn’t recognize. Turns out, my dear husband was more excited than I thought! He had gotten himself & Conner matching shirts. He had Mouse ears & “Disney 09” painted on his shirt & Conner’s! Awwwww. Stuff like that makes me all warm & fuzzy inside.

So we finished loading up the car & pulled out of the driveway by 6:05. Not bad.

Conner’s ready to go!

How was the rest of the trip to FL? Drama free? Nice weather? We’ll find out next time!

Well guys, this is a busy week! I have a student nurse association (SNA) meeting in an hour, a dr's appt at 1:30 (routine stuff), water sales at 5:45 for the SNA, class all day tomorrow, and the kicker...

DUM DUM DAAAAH

I have a math test on Tuesday, of which I have to get 100%. If I miss 1 question, I have 1 chance on Tuesday to fix it. If I still miss, then I can re-take another math test on Friday. If I don't get 100%, I'm out of the nursing program

I need prayers, chickens swung, positive thoughts, whatever, PLEASE!

Hey Beka! Hopping in to enjoy your TR. Ugh, I feel for you. I did the same thing the day we left. Nothing is worse when you wake up all excited just to realize it's not actually time to wake up. BOO!! I didn't realize Kyle made those shirts -- LOVE IT!!! They both look so cute in them.
