I know this is an unusual question, but has anyone ever had a problem with bugs in their WDW rooms? My in-laws said there were 2 baby roaches near the sink in their room at the CSR once.I am hoping this was just a one time thing.

Thanx:teacher:

I have never seen bugs in any room I have stayed in, and I have stayed in many hotels (Contemporary, Polynesian, AKL, ASmu, ASSp, ASMov, CSR, CBR, POR, POFQ, Swan, and Dolp). However, this is Florida and we do have many bugs. It could happen. Even the cleanest of buildings could have a few insects.

Had a roach in my room at the Contemporary this summer. Had a lizzard in my room at the All Star Movies. Then had a frog sitting on my bed when I came back to my POR room in October. My record isn't very good. The frog got me by surprise. I didn't see him because he blended into the bedspread. When I dropped my backpack on the bed he hopped onto the headboard. I guess it is expected since we were near the pool and river--ground floor. My husband scooped up the lizzard and frog and sent them back to their homes during each event. Of course we saw a cat during our October POR visit too. Guess that's why the rabbit population has gone down at Dixie Landing (POR) (only saw 2 rabbits during our 10 day stay.)

I have stayed in 14 different rooms on 8 trips and have had a couple of misquitos in the room and a small colorful beetle on the patio table at the Yacht Club. That is it. We did have and armadillo outside of our room at the CBR and while it did resemble a beetle it didn't come inside! ;)

We had a few ants in our room at the CBR this past November. They were all back on the shelf where the coffee service items are kept. I believe we had a sub-par mousekeeper for the first two days and that the lack of a proper clean up of the sugar probably accounted for the problem. Things seem to be solved on day 3 when a new mousekeeper apparently took over and did a better job of cleaning (she also did washcloth animals and left a nice note, unlike the first one).

We haven't had any insects in our rooms, though we have seen palmetto bugs in the lobby of the GF. We once had a lizard in our room at the GF, in Conch Key
Cheers!

I had a spider in my bed at GF this past trip. Might have scared some but I just tossed him out and was none the worse for ware.

Having lived in Florida I know that bugs are a fact of life no matter how much you clean.

after seeing other posts about bugs and ants, i kept a sharp eye out for such critters in our room. we were at POR last week...
only saw one bug in the room, and he'd hitched a ride on my dh's back.
we also saw armadillos and dd came upon a 'possum - but not in the room...

Happy New Year!

no bug per se; only the occasional lizard. I believe they can get in and out via the air conditioning units.

I had baby ants in my room at the Poly a couple years ago. They were hanging out by the sink. The next 3 trips to the Poly I didn't have any ants. We were on the 3rd floor for all of our stays too.

Had a small palmetto (roach?) in our room at ASMU our last stay a few weeks ago, in bathroom. Flushed him down.

We had a large cockroach (palmetto bug, that is..) on our bathroom counter in the Samoa bldg at the Poly in October. It was pretty nasty, since it was so big, but we didn't let it ruin the trip. Two people came to try to remove it, but we lost sight of it and they couldn't find it. Our room was sprayed the next day while we were out. It was kind of a bummer b/c we loved the room and it's location. But as I said, we didn't let it ruin the rest of the trip!

I live in S florid Im so use to bugs!!:)
the only annoying bugs we have seen where to horseflys when we were there in May!! they were really bad because they bite!!!

We had a HUGE spider in the sink area in our room at CBR this past November. My DH usually releases them into the wild ;) but for whatever reason decided this time to hit it with his shoe. Well, when the shoe hit the spider, there was a "poof" sound and hundreds of tiny baby spiders were scurrying all over the floor. He tried to catch as many as he could, but I'm sure there were some escapees.;) Ugh!!

Friends of mine just returned from a stay at AKL and they had to ask for a new room. Their original one was infested with fleas. They were moved with no problem, the room sprayed and one hopes, rid of fleas!

I'm from Texas so I'm used to bugs also- but with that said.. I didn't notice one bug, lizard, etc. in our rooms at ASMu nor ASSp. I can't say for other resorts though...

We had a large water bug once at Port Orleans Riverside (then Dixie Landings), but I think he crawled in while the mousekeepers were cleaning because it was a one time thing, and I never saw another bug the entire trip. Other than this, I've never had bugs at Disney. We did have a small snake once at the Contemporary (I promise, a snake....not a lizard. However, the maintenance man who caught him assured me he was not poisonous.)

OK bugs I can handle, but SNAKES - no no no!! Now wondering what we might find next week at POR, maybe I'll request 3rd floor mansion!

Newbie here! We stayed at the AKL last Jan and had ants in our room between the room with the sinks and the actual bathroom. We called down since we were going to get something to eat anyways, they told us they would come and spray immediately, and when we got back they did spray and swept them all up. No big deal and we didn't make any fuss. We are going back in 10 days so hopefully it won't happen again. BTW, the room was #3425, in case anyone wanted to know. Happy New Year to all!
