Inquired About Disney Store Job

Well i need a job this summer to save up for the disney trip im taking with my friends in january. so where did i apply? to a new Disney store thats opening up in my mall They expanded the mall last year, and have been adding stores ever since, and i saw the number on the malls website and left a message inquiring about a position.

what better way to save for a trip to disney than to work at a piece of disney in my hometown? even though yes i know, they are now owned by the children's place! crazyness, and theres no more WDW park discounts because of this.

But money is money. And i dont go to WDW as much as many of you for me to cash in on those old benefits anyway. Hope they call me back *crosses fingers*

Good luck - just don't expect to get paid much! I had an interview there and was offered a job, but couldn't justify paying a sitter for my kids about the same amount I'd be earning. They pay minimum wage! If I did end up with any left over $$, I know I'd spend them there too.

glad to see the pay has improved since the takeover.

When I worked there with a college degree and 3 years of retail experience they were able to get me the fantastic wage of $6.25 an hour.

In NY I only got 6.50 starting last year; are you a regular castmember or a lead or assistant mgr? That is an awfully high salary for a "sales clerk" position. We also only get 30% off merchandise, and I know that is nationwide.

As for Disney Obsessive, is that the Queens Center Mall they are opening in? Try to provide as much availability as possible, that will give you a leg up on the competition. It is a fun store to work in but beware the temptation to purchase a lot of merchandise. For me, it is not a good store to make/save money, for I too am Disney Obsessive.

Sorry its 30% type o. I was hired as a part-time lead. How much is min wage? The Childrens Place took over the end of last year I believe.

Yes, it is the queens center mall one sacadanga. I'm there all the freakin time anyway so i figure why not work there lol if i dont get the DS job i might wind up applying to a couple of the other stores that are looking for help anyway.
