Please give me some feedback on these. Thanks :) This is our resort choice for our stay and would like to know about these places offered at our resort. Thanks so much!

We had breakfast at Boma and it was great! We really enjoyed it, and the juice they serve there is delicious! (Be sure to try some. It's called "West African Frunch"):thumbsup2

We're staying there in December and will be trying Boma for dinner (and of course we're going to have breakfast there again too), and I assume we'll visit Mara a few times. Looking forward to it all.:woohoo:

We were there in October, and ate at both Jiko and Boma. Boma was very good, a HUGE selection to choose from. We (daughter and I) have peanut allergies, and the chef came out and walked us around the (huge) buffet, telling us exactly what was in everything. I just expected a verbal list of a couple of things to avoid, but wow, were they thorough. There are lots of dishes that I was naturally unfamiliar with, but there were plenty of things that looked familiar as well. We are definitely going back next trip.

We also at at Jiko's, and my steak was outstanding. My little girl and my Mom really enjoyed their food as well. Great atmosphere in there, too. (and not as noisy as Boma.)

We stayed at AKL 2 weeks ago. We had Boma dinner, Mara breakfast, & Mara dinner.

Boma was wonderful-great food, cool restaurant, terrific service!
Mara's dinner was great-best chicken fingers I've ever had!
I didn't care for Mara's egg sandwich for breakfast. I found the eggs very heavy and gooey-not appealing at all. Mara's Mickey waffles were great!
We peeked into Jiko's and it's got a cool atmosphere. I've also read great reviews about this place.

There is supposed to be a new cool restaurant opening there in the future when the new AKV's are completed that will overlook the savannah.

You will love AKL-it's a beautiful resort!!

We just stayed at AKL!

The Mara was great! Last year, we stayed at WL and RF did not have much to choose from. We thought the Mara had a great selection for QS meals and was usually not too crowded. Nothing fancy but we could eat there several times without having the same thing twice.

We tried Boma for dinner. MY DH liked it. I liked the soups and desserts. I am not a very daring eater so a lot of the main dishes were not my style. I did try some and they were okay - just not my personal preference. The soups, however, were awesome!

We loved AKL - have fun!

Jiko - gorgeous atmosphere, and even better food.

Boma - too loud for us and food selections not for us. Others love it!

Mara - very comfortable with this place and the food. DS still asks if we can go to Mara for lunch!

We just came back Friday from AKL. Our fav is Jiko, especially the Taste of Africa appetizer. I had the sturgeon & the tomato butter sauce is amazing! We had Boma for breakfast & it had a big selection. I thought it was better than any other breakfast buffet I've had at WDW. We ate at Mara for lunch one day & it was fine. A big selection too. I had the flatbread pizza. DH thought Mara was better than any other CS place we have tried in the parks. I think AKL does an excellent job w/the restaurants & you won't go wrong w/any of them.

Just my opinion, but Boma is the single best buffet in all of WDW. Their selection and variety definitely outweighs any other. Also, their Flank Steak is just amazing and for the adults, some wonderful alcohol infused desserts. Very tasty. Have not eaten breakfast there as of yet.

The Mara is a great counter service. Their food is definitely better quality than some of the other counter services and they have a few wonderful selections (such as the African Beef Stew in a bread bowl...it's really good!)

I have yet to eat at Jiko, but I will be eating breakfast at Boma in less than a month! So I'll report back then :)

We originally booked our stay at WL, but changed to AKL partially for this reason. Sounds like my suspicions were correct. When we visited WL I was unimpressed with Roaring Forks, size and menu. Mara seemed to suit our diet and eating habits much better (fish eating Vegetarians).

My mother echoes your sentiment about the soups at Boma!

We've eaten at Jiko twice and really enjoyed both of our meals there. Service both times was outstanding as was the food. We tried Mara once and for a CS they had a pretty good selection of food. My DH had the African Stew there and thought it was very good.

Mara sells a couple of soups that taste like the soup from Boma (same kitchen I'd assume) and zebra domes in the grab & go case.

I really like the African stew also (chicken curry stew in a bread bowl).

I am staying at the AKL for 5 nights in April and have already made a reservation for Dinner at Boma. I would like to try the breakfast at least once but don't want to commit to a date or time yet. Do you need a reservation for breakfast?
