We are going from 8/2 to 8/4 and I've called every day trying to change from an Inn Garden View to a Studio or 1 BR but there is no availability. Has anyone stayed in a Garden View Room? Is it really small? I really wanted to have a kitchen or at least a microwave and fridge in the room but I guess I'm out of luck.

Has anyone ever had an experience with a DVC room that they have gone to check in and have been able to upgrade their room if one has been available at check in?

The square footage is the same for both the Inn Room and a studio. I *think* the difference really is that the studio may have a couch whereas the Inn room won't....you may get more info by asking your questions here:

I've stayed in an inn room once and thought it was fine, of course an ocean view would be nice too...but a stay in August, I'd imagine you'll be at the pool or the beach most of the time anyways.

We almost always stay in the Inn Rooms while at VB. Haven't tried the Garden View but I don't suppose they're much different than the Ocean Views except for the ocean! The Inn Rooms do have the kitchenette with microwave, fridge, etc., pretty much the same as the studios. We actually like being in the Inn rather than the 'outbuildings' where the villas are, it's nice for proximity to the restaurants, gift shop, etc. AS the other poster said, the main difference (other than the shape of the room) is the second bed vs the sleeper. And in the studios and 1BR villas, you may or may not get a view of the water, either. I think you'll enjoy your stay;)! Good luck.

You'll have the kitchenette in the GVIR. There are 2 queen beds. Enjoy your stay.

We have always stayed in the Inn Room - Ocean View. You have little if any ocean view in the Studios , depending on location. If you can get a 3rd or 4th floor Inn Ocean view, I think its much better.

We stay in the Inn 2x. Once ocean view & once Garden. We wouldn't waste the pts for ocean view. The rooms are great they have 2 queen beds instead of a bed & sleeper. They have a kitchenette just like the studios.

We always try to stay in an inn room rather than a studio because we like the two beds and being in the main building. We always ask for an upper floor, and try to get and ocean view, but if you are on an upper floor garden view you get a great view the other way and can see the river.

I would ask to be put on the waiting list for an ocean view rather than for a studion unless the sofe is important to you. We recently stayed in a studio and I found the sofa very uncomfortable to sit on for reading. I had to take the back cushion off. Reading from the bed is better for me.

Any way you look at it, you will have a great time at Vero. We love it there.
