I'm thinking about spending one night here in Sept. just so my grandson and I can take advantage of the amenities at the main resort. My grandson loves a water play area, and the one at Summer Bay looks fun. Is it worth staying there for the facilities, or will we feel too far away from the action? The alternative is one night at the Pop Century.

I am wondering the same thing

I need a room for 1 night before our weekly stay and this has a good price

It says you can use Summer bay facilities, but I wonder if they are so far away that it is not worth it

I think it is near - it is either in front of Summer bay - or across HW 192.

We stayed at a hotel across the highway from Summer Bay at a cheap rate in exchange for listening to timeshare presentation at Summer Bay in January 2004. I think it was the Summer Bay Inn. We were there 2 nights and couldn't wait to check out. We thought it was kind of run down.

has one review of the place and it is good

we are flying in around noon, and just need a place to stay until we can get into our resort. I am thinking I could go do the grocery shopping and the kids could play at the facilities.
It is on Orbitz for $35- is there anyway to get around those $5 booking fees? Like a different site?

We did manage to survive a couple of nights in a HoJo down there, so I am hoping this will be ok.

sweet maxine- did you book or stay there?

you can try
www.hotelkingdom.com

but I don't think I have seem that resort.

that I would think is a good price.

You realize that is down near US27 on US192 - a good ways from WDW or any of the other theme parks?

I did originally find it on Hotelkingdom- it is just a few pages down- it was a teeny bit more on their site.

It is ok if it is not near the theme parks. We won't be going our 1st day there because we are flying in, getting car, grocery shopping, ect. Is it close to any grocery stores? I have driven around Orlando a bit, but don't really have a good idea where I am at any given time!

yes - there is a Publix a little ways down on US 192

are you coming in US 27 then US 192 - us 27 is the first real exit off the turnpike

the Inn at Summer bay is across the street from the resort. It is an older refurbished hotel, but still looks nice. There is a new Holiday inn express right in front of the resort also.

In May we stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Express which is right on the Summer Bay property. It is a new hotel and was nice.
