Inkjet Refills?

We have a Dell printer and though the printer was free with the computer, the replacement ink costs about a million dollars. Has anyone used one of these refill places and if so, have they worked? A color refill costs us around $27. What could I expect to pay for a refill of that type of cartridge?

I have an HP printer and that's about what my refills cost. I once tried to get the cartridges refilled and it was HORRIBLE!! It never worked right and I ended up tossing it and buying new cartridges. Refilling wasn't much of a savings anyway, though I ended up spending more since the refills didn't work for me. I just don't print very often, thus needing replacements about twice a year. YMMV.

Just don't do it

Seriously though... I work in the industry and we throw away printers every week because someone decided to use refilled cartridges and they leaked all over and/or ruined the printer some other way. I'm sure some people use them all the time and never have problems, I just don't see those printers (we work in service).

The decision to make is - should it ruin your printer are you willing to go out and buy a new one? Or would you rather pay for OEM ink?

There are some reputable generic/compatible ink companies out there - these are not refilled they are new ink cartridges made by a manufacturer other than the OEM. Those are less likely to cause problems but really when you are dealing with liquid ink (ink jet/bubble jet) there is nothing like the OEM (original equipment manufacturer)
