Inkjet Printer Help - Please!

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to help my father in replacing his Canon inkjet printer. It was a wonderful copier while it worked, but he's only had it for a year and now it's broken. He would really like to replace it with a printer that you can refill the ink cartridges instead of continually replacing them. Any suggestions??

I think your best bet would to talk to some one at a computer store that can tell you what inks can be refilled, then go from there.

I just bought a canon at Office Depot... but I guess that doesn't help you. But they had an HP photo printer (no scanner/copier) for 25$ as well (originally 100$).

I used to buy all the super duper new printers when they came out then I got sick of paying to much for ink and we bought a kodak esp 7 I print alot and now use alot less ink. But someday I wan't a waxed based ink printer for home use ah dreams =)

Thanks so much for your reply Evi. I've just waited a full 30 minutes on hold with Staples to ask their opinion before I finally gave up. I'm a little bummed because I looked up the reviews for the Kodak printer you mentioned on Amazon, and it didn't do very well.

We love our Kodak printer! It pumps out photo prints and regular printing also for really cheap. The ink you can get at either Wal-Mart or Sams' Club and I would say we pay half of what some of the printer inks cost and get even more prints out of a cartirdge. We have had HP's, Brother, Canon in the past and the Kodak is better than all of them, especially when you consider cost of the ink. It is also very simple to use.
