Ink on 100% cotton...help!

My son got what looks to be dark ink from a rollling ball pen on his red 100% cotton shirt.
Is there any hope of getting it out ??
Maybe a home-remedy........

Try hair spray. You should spray a little and then blot the spot. Repeat as many times as needed. This worked great when my dog ate a ball point pen on my couch.

Hairspray is what we used to use in the clothing stores...just make sure you have a good thick towel between the two layers of the shirt so it doesn't bleed through.
