Injured at WDW!

Why should someone need to be compensated for pain from an accident. Bills paid, etc., I agree. But if you fall down your own steps at home you aren't going to be compensated for the pain, you just deal with it. I think that the same goes for an accident elsewhere.

I can't see how Disney owes something because a CM isn't friendly enough.

She should get something. It's obvious that Disney didn't do anything about the umbrellas because it kept falling down. So they are at fault here. It's completely different than falling down a flight of stairs at home.

I think she should be compensated. They know the weather in Florida. They also know alot of people come under those umbrellas. They should make sure they don't fall. Would if that was a small child or a baby in a stroller that umbrella fell on? I bet people would feel a whole lot different.

I agree with you. If she were a child or baby this situation would be a whole lot different. That is sad really. I hope she gets the compensation she deserves. You really can't use the weather as an excuse. They know what it's like down there and if they have umbrellas, it's their responsibility to secure them so they do not fall over on their guests. Plain and simple

When that injury or pain interferes with their daily life and they cannot do the same things they could prior to the incident (like work and earn a paycheck). That's when one should be compensated. There is a huge difference between falling down the stairs by fault of your own (i.e. tripping) and something falling on you that someone else was responsible for.

Everyone hates lawyers until they need one.

I don't hate lawyers. Some of my best friends are lawyers. I just wouldn't want them to get married to each other though. Heck, if they wanted to marry, they should each marry a doctor couple, that way, they get all the same rights anyway, and it'd make them shut up. They know how I feel, and it's ok with them.

So, if you fell at your best friends house would you sue them? I wouldn't sue my best friend, and I would sue a corporation. As I stated compensation for bills is one thing, seeing how much you can get from a company (or individual) is a totally other thing.

I sure hope no one gets hurt in your home. Even with insurance you can lose everything due to the greed and entitlement thinking of others.

I wouldn't pursue a Lawyer but I would contact Disney again and explain the ongoing concern and your views of how this was handled in the first place.

My husband was injured on Disney transportation during the Millenium New Years celebrations and I can only say that Disney were phenomenal to deal with. Very kind and very fair.

Really, what is important is that your MIL recovers and that any costs involved in the process are not out of her own pocket the way I see it? That is reasonable.

Accidents happen....anywhere
