Initial impressions & trip report from a first timer

It's never bothered me to share a bench on it's a small world or Pirates - pretty long benches. My favorite, most perplexing single rider experience was when a third person joined our party of two in the doom buggy on Haunted Mansion. We were so shocked and didn't have time to tell her to go on the following seat so the three of us were literally squashed on that attraction.:rotfl2:

Thanks for your report, Khalil!
It was so embarrassing. I did this once at monsters. I have no idea what I was thinking. The people in front of me got in the car and I just followed. The cm told me to wait. But then made a joke. Yeah. Embarrassing. 🙊

We talked about doing single rider, but we didn't feel comfortable doing that with my 7yr old (or for our first time riding).
Good call. For any family using SR, it's a good idea to go over some safety rules ahead of time. For example, discuss the general scenario, what to do if the child exits first (wait for the parent! don't run off alone to the next ride!), what to do if the ride breaks down, etc. This can save a lot of anxiety for parent and child.

I also thought about it for those of us that could, but since we had a 5 yr old we figured might as well all wait. I'm also always feeling a bit bad for the SRL folks who get slotted with us - we're a crazy bunch (family of 7, typically 5 riding at a time). I also like trolling friends and family with the ride pictures, claiming the stranger as our newest family member 😂
Love it! I've had some great chats with SRs about our Disney gear (e.g shirts, Dooneys, pins, etc.). By the time we exit the ride, "my new BFF" and I can be texting each other Disney shopping links! DH always laughs at this -- how do you bond so fast with total strangers? (Oh, Honey... when it comes to Disney shopping buffs, there are no strangers!)

Glad you thought twice about it! Besides the strangers safety part, attractions can also have very long downtimes/evacuations that can be nearly an hour.

It's rare, but happens almost daily during busy seasons. Sadly I've seen parents verbally assault Cast Members blaming them for their child being stuck on ride for extended period of time. When in fact they should be grateful their child is safe and the CM's are following proper evac procedures.
