Good Day,

My brothers and I are inheriting a few DVC contracts that my Dad had.
I know that if you buy a resell contract now, you don't get a DVC membership card from Disney and aren't treated like a full member.

Does anyone know if they treat inherited deeds like Resale or like Direct buys?

Thank you!

If your Dad's contracts were purchased direct or if their resale purchases were prior to any restrictions were put in place, then the inherited memberships will be unrestricted with full membership benefits.

Gifts, including inheritances, are not resales subject to all the restrictions that exist at time of resale. The recipients of a gift of a contract take the contract with the same restrictions, or lack thereof, as the owner who makes the gift.

We were gifted a DVC contract by my mother in law after her husband died she didn’t want to manage it or go alone. What’s crazy is that now our blue cards say members since 1995 (when they bought their contract). I was 15 in 1995 🤣
