Hi all.

Just wondered if anyone knew if you can take inhalers in your hand luggage?

My youngest DS has slight asthma so only uses his inhaler now and again. He's worse when he gets a cold (like he has at the mo.) as it goes straight to his chest and he can't breath very well. If this happens when we go in July I'm just worried incase we can't take his inhaler on the plane.

Anyone have the same problem?

I have always been able to take my inhalers in hand luggage (including spares) as long as they are pharmacy labelled there is no problem with them.

I am asthmatic myself and when we went August last year when they were still being strict with hand luggage allowances I was able to take my inhaler in hand luggage as it was considered essential medication. It didnt have a pharmacy label on it so we checked with the pharmacist in Boots and she said it would be fine without. Hopefully things are a little less strict now so you hopefully wont have a problem.

We take our DD's in our hand luggage without any problems along with her other medication. :)

Hi

I've checked on this a couple of weeks ago on the BAA website since I'm going away soon and use inhalers. According to that website, you can take one of each inhaler (I have two sorts ventolin and seretide) put into the plastic bag that you pack toletries in to go through Security, and any spares have to be packed in your hold luggage (which I'm not really happy about but anyway....)
Cheers

Thanks Paula for the info. :thumbsup2 My son has 2 sorts too plus one of those aero-chamber things to breath into.
