Infraction cost me 30 points

not neccessarily, argumentative sarcastic posts are only 10 points, minor personal attack is only 20 points. You wouldn't lose your signature for either of those unless you already had points.

Or if you had NO points, and got 40 for a 'major personal attack' - and the co-"attacker' still had said signature in all it's glorY!

I got 30 points for posting a non-Dis board smilie. I've seen a ton of people post different ones, so I thought they were allowed.

I have received points too for a siggie pic that was posted here awhile ago, that I saved because it was funny to me, and it was ok then and I post it and WHAM I get a PM that I have 30 points due to a filter violation when the siggie pic I had was not naked, didn't swear, was not directed at anyone in particular and yet someone *thanks by the way to them* reported me and got me points!

I'm point-free so far, but I have to wonder how easy it would be to get points for referring to a locked thread?

Before I opened this thread up, I did some DIS cleaning, to empty some subscriptions that I no longer needed. Several of the threads that I had posted on, were now locked, but I had no idea. Some had been locked within the past week, so it would have been really easy to mention them in another thread.

You can keep track of you points through your UserCP. It will show it at the bottom of the screen with the expiration date. If you get another 10 points, then you'll lose your sig and PMing privileges. I am completely pointless for the first time in ages, but no telling how long that will last.

Well I can tell you that this post was pretty darn pointless. Most of mine end up being pointless, too.... Only occasionally will it actually render any point(s)
