One of our party has a birthday during our cruise. Is there a way to inform DCL of her special day ahead of time, so our servers know? I checked online, but didn't see anything.

Well, usually when you make your reservation there's a spot to add "special occasions". But, once the reservation is made, you'll have to call DCL to have it added. I'll also point out - it's a good idea to give a head's up to your head server/server the first night in the dining room (just to be sure).

Thanks, Shmoo. We may have done that when we made our reservation; that was almost a year ago, so I don't remember. We will be sure to let our head server know as well.

You can always call and verify it is on there. They don't mind. I called just to verify that my reservation was linked with my parents' (I'm taking them, so...) AND that my gluten-free need was documented (I was slightly iffy on if it was based on my prior conversation with a guy on the regular line when it was just me)

If you've cruised DCL before use the Castaway Club line - I almost never have to wait long by going that way. (Of course I'm not calling on release dates, so...)

When we booked our cruise, like 3 weeks ago, there was no option to fill in special occasions/celebrations. I remember that you could do that some time ago before they changed the booking module (I tried doing a booking back then without completing the last step, just to see what the booking process looked like). There was no option for any requests now. Since it will be our honeymoon, I used the contact form on the website (https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/help/email/ ) to let them know and got a reply within a day or so. I also asked for a private table and asked them to document my lactose intolerance while I was at it and they stated that on our booking too. :) There's no way to see all of this in my booking on the DCL website though, except for the allergies/diets thing; you can put this information in yourself under My Reservations but I wanted to be sure. ;)

Also, and you probably already know this, but the Disney machine knows when your birthday is if you are sailing! :) but we usually go grab our own birthday button at GS upon arrival but CMs have always surprised us at some point with a dessert or buttons reflecting the celebration after just mentioning it with the reservation. Have fun!
