Are there any informal exchange forums or websites available for those who want to exchange their DVC points / bookings with other timeshare owners?

You may try the TUG. I made my way over there when I traded into Cancun. I had a couple posters tell me they would be willing to trade directly with me 'next' time.......Their Royals Resort for my Beach Club. But, I'm not sure how to go about it, so I'm not sure if I'd take them up on it or not at this point.

Besides TUG and here also consider redweeks.com, bidshares.com, timesharing today & myresortsnetwork.com to name a few. There are also a number of private BBS that one can post such if you're interested in certain items. Some have minor fees, others are totally free.
