Informal DIS meet for F&W and Half-marathon

Sunday should work for me....but I may be leaving a wet blanket at the resort, too! Dh was wanting a lazy day that day ;)

Would love to be at a meet as we will be there too - along with a lots of Dis'ers coming off the WBTA on the 2nd Oct.

However, we won't have park admission so any meet in the park won't be an option for us :confused3

Maybe the 2 wet blankets can hang out by the pool together and dry out....lol

I shouldn't be too hard on him...he just doesn't quite get my disney obsession. I think you either have the disney gene or you don't and he doesn't.

BTW are there hubby's or boyfriend's who plan on golfing on their trip...that may be an incentive to get him to meet everyone???

I agree with this thought... And am still hoping my DH will get it someday. But that's the reason I'm leaving him at home to mind the children on this trip. :thumbsup2

Good luck!!!!

DBF and I have been together about 4 yrs now....he knew when he met me I went to Disney every yr and we have ever since. He has decided to put his foot down and tell me he is not going to Disney every yr:laughing::laughing::laughing:

He's so funny!!!!! ( BTW..he said that last yr too)

Hey Everyone -

In regards to a meet during the opening weekend of Food & Wine it seems like a lot of DISers will be around for the races. Since Saturday is the day for the 5K, Half Relay, and Half Marathon that may not be a good day for a meet. Also, Sunday evening a lot of folks will be attending MNSSHP so that will not be a good time as well. It sounds like a number of people are leaving on the Monday following the races.

What does everyone think about having a meet around 1:00PM Sunday, Oct 3rd over at EPCOT. I figure that maybe the best time for a meet. Just throwing a "stake in the ground" to see what everyone thought. World Showcase will be packed with locals and tourists enjoying the Food & Wine festivities. We should probably meet over in Future World. My suggestion is we meet over at the Land Pavillion at Sunshine Seasons. This way you can grab a bite to eat if you wish while we meet. Does anyone think seating will be difficult? It can get full at times.

After the meet those going to the MK for MNSSHP can jump on the monorail and head over around 4:00PM for the party.

If you guys think this is a good idea I can start a new thread with the information and keep track of who's coming. If you have other suggestions on the time and place let me know.

Thoughts?

This sounds like a great idea Aaron. Since I most likely won't get to bed before 4:00am on Saturday 1:00 will be great.

DH totally has the Disney gene, it's just his Disney gene is apparently a bit lazier than mine:goodvibes

:cool1: We finally have an off-property resort booked for Oct 23-30 (RCI exchange...Bonnet Creek). I'm still deciding if we can do a few nights on property.

I wished that we could had booked early October, but NC Beast's schedule did not permit that this year plus we are back in Florida for Christmas.

Hey Gang,

Just thinking out loud, but maybe we should hold the meet outside of the theme park for those who don't want use a park admission before the Halloween party on Sunday night. In fact, we can hold the meet at the Tambu Lounge near the Magic Kingdom for those who will be attending the party.

You'll love Bonnet Creek!!!! I was totally against it when dbf was talking about sharing a 2 bedroom with another couple. So much so, that I made him agree to spending at least a couple of nights on property at SSR. Well let me tell you...it was almost a disappointment moving to SSR after being at Bonnet Creek. We requested a fireworks view room at BC and would sit on the balcony and watch both Epcot and MK fireworks. Spaceship Earth was the view from our room. If BC could add the dining plan and EMH I'd stay there every trip.
Too bad you couldn't make it early October. This will be first time meeting other Dis'ers and I'm very excited!
