Infomercial for Knives - any good?

I just watched an Infomercial for Ronco knives. The have like 25 knives that include steak knives and then they offer another whole set of knives for free! I tell you, this infomercial wants me to call up and order them right away, but...I wonder if they really are quality knives. I don't have a ton of money and these are like $40 which seems almost too cheap.
Anybody have these knives and are they and good?

Decent Chef's Knives start at $40 each and go up from there.

I love Rada knives. I want a knife I can sharpen again and again. I do wear them out but they are still my favorites.

I wouldn't buy it-nothing worse than a bad knife, and you really don't need that many. I basically just use my chef's knife, a paring knife, and a serrated knife.

The current issue of Consumer Reports actually ranks Ginsu knives pretty high - maybe even a Best Buy or Recommended, but I'm too lazy to go into the other room and get the magazine right now.

The only knives I own are an 8" chef's knife a small paring knife, a serrated bread knife, and 6 steak knives. I can't even begin to figure out why you would need 25 knives.

Anyway, the Victorinox Fibrox knives are great. So are Whustof knives. If you pay attention you can find them on sale. Buy good quality knives and take care of them and you'll be passing them on to your children someday.

I have 5 cutco knives. And a bunch of others that are NEVER used. Come to think of it, I should go wrap those and put them in the googwill pile...
