Hi everyone,

My BF and I were originally planning an intimate wedding for Dec 2007. I am now thinking that it might not be too much more to have a custom wedding. I had planned on having a very nice dinner and dessert party on the wedding day bringing our expenses close to the minimum of 10K for a weekday. I would like more information on pricing. Does the planning packet include prices? Can anyone kindly provide me with a copy?

In addition, I have noticed on the Disney website and in the DVD pamphlet that they mention the minimum expenditures may be higher or lower at different times of the year. I am planning a wedding during value season in early December. Does anyone know if the minimum is lower during this time? Thanks a million!!!

When i ordered the free dvd, there was a price list for various things for a custom wedding. Didn't take long to arrive either so you might try that

I actually have the DVD already. I wanted more information on the minimums for different reception venues. Information on the prices for transportation...towncar transfers, buses, etc. Estimates on the cost of food at different places. I am just trying to get a sense of whether or not I will meet the 10K. I don't want to add stuff just to get to the minimum. I would rather have an intimate wedding in that case. I am just a bit confused, and Disney won't deal with me yet because it is still 24 months away. I tried to talk to a sales manager today to ask about the minimums during the value season, and they told me to wait until May. It was a bit frustrating for an obsessive planner like myself. Anyways, sorry for rambling...thanks for your help!

Have you tried the wishbook yet? There is a good guideline of prices for everything from ceremony, music, floral, reception, transpotation etc! only thing not on there is the dessert party. www.disneyweddings.com Then go to custom weddings and create a wishbook. :goodvibes

The site has a lot of information. The link above should take you to the list of menu options. Your food is more than likely going to be your highest expenditure. You can start doing the math there. There's a lot of other cool planning associated things on the site, too- it's the Unofficial Disney Wedding Guide.

Another question: Do hair and make-up on the wedding day still count? I know Disney cosmo is no longer available. I am still trying to find ways to reach that 10K limit without adding extras I don't absolutely need. Thanks!

Cosmetology no longer count towards disney's minimum. Also, Don't forget that the 10,000 is BEFORE tax and gratuity. So depending on your guest list and food count, the actual total might get up to 11,000-12,000ish.. Just something to consider :)

The information in disney's wish book is pretty accurate and a good starting place... except for floral, which can really be customized and the prices made to go up or down..

Umm.. trying to think of some info that might be helpful that's not on the wish book...

The menu's for food vary, but the minimum is usually 75 for lunch or 100 for dinner (i think.. im going by memory here). Beverages, food, appetizers, and cake all go towards meeting that 75 or 100 minimum..

Anything on the DAY of your wedding goes towards the minimum, such as an illuminations dessert party etc.. But if you have it on a different day it doesn't go towards your minimum..

Let me know if you'd like any specific information, I am always happy to share what I know!!

Thank you for all of your help!!! My boyfriend and I sat down to discuss wedding costs today. After considering how much we expect to save in the next 2 years, we decided to go with the intimate wedding. We are both in grad school, so we don't earn very much. In addition, I want a really lavish honeymoon. I would like to stay for 7 nights in the GF...which is going to add a lot to the wedding costs. In the end, we decided to invite only a handful of people (12 total), and treat them really well. We are thinking of having the intimate ceremony at the WP and then dinner at Victoria and Alberts (private room). We might rent the Grand 1 yacht for the fireworks show and electrical parade. Plus, we want to host a welcome dinner the night before and a farewell brunch the day after. There are so many wonderful options at Disney...and I would love to try them all, but we must keep costs down for now. Anyways, thanks again for your input!!! :earsgirl:
