Now we are considering staying at Hampton Inns and Suites Garden Grove. It is on Harbor like the other motels, but is a mile away. Says you can ride the ART to DL. How easy or hard is that? Do they fill up quick? Do you have to wait forever to get on one? Can you take a stroller folded up on it? Only reason we are considering the Hampton is if DH can get his corporate discount. Sounds like a nice place with a hot buffet breakfast.

Yes, you can take a stroller, you just fold it up and put it in the back in the "stroller" area. Yes, they can fill up but IME it's only at park closing that the shuttle is very full. They run every 20 minutes past your hotel. The time depends on the day that are you attending. The last shuttle pick up is at 12:20 or 12:30, I don't remember which.

Beginning January 7th, children 9 and under will be charged $1/day. It used to be free, but now they'll be charging for them.

We used the ART on our trip this past weekend, and it was AWESOME. I had a stroller for my 5 y/o DS (which was great to use = no whining due to being tired/sore feet/etc).

It does pick up every 20 minutes starting about an hour before the park opens (40 min before EE) and 30 min after park closing. We were there for 3 days, 3 day pass for me was $8 and worth every penny, we rode it about 8 times a day. DS was free. Great drivers, very nice and helpful, quick ride to the park.

Make sure you ask the driver their lunch break and shift change times, For some reason they seem to have a big problem maintaining the 20 minute rotation times. Just avoid those times.

The problem we had last year with ART is this. We were traveling with my in-laws who were going to watch our kids one night so that my DH & I could have some alone time. It took DH over an hour to wait for the ART, drop off the kids, wait for the ART, and get back to DL. So it's not the best if you forget something of want to get back to DL quickly.

We are staying at this hotel in April and have decided to just drive. With kids now costing $1 it costs us almost the same to park the car and go when we want as to take the ART.
