We are looking at a trip to the world in Oct or Dec and I want to check into the dining options...we ate 2-3 sit-down meals each day and we spent a fortune on food. I am trying to find out if the new dining plan would be beneficial to us. Thanks for any and all advice..comments.

There's some great info here that describes the plan and potential savings.

Not all Disney World restaurants are currently participating (some Epcot WS ones are third-party owned/managed), but hopefully Disney will be able to expand the list in the future. Also, it is my understanding that Coronado Springs' Pepper Market & Maya Grill are accepting the plan. I believe Disney is revamping the list to reflect this. Here's the current official brochure: MYW Dining

It should help you determine if it's a fit for you.

Hope this helps!

The MYW dining plan includes a counter service meal, a "snack" (ice cream bar or popcorn) and a table service meal per day for $35 (plus tax) per adult. IF that fits your dining style, it should work well for you. If, as you indicate, you prefer full service restaurants (we do, too) then you will probably be disappointed.

Depending on your travel habits and number of "park days", if you can justify the cost of an annual pass, you can order the DDE card for another $50. It will give you 20% off at vitually all Disney operated sit-down restaurants, buffets and lounges (including alcohol). IT also is good at counter service places in AK, Pop Century, and All Stars as there are no full service restaurants there.

For the snack, you can also choose a 20 oz. bottle of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Dasani water or a medium fountain soft drink at select snack cart locations. That's what we're probably going to get.
