Info on Sleeping Beauty Castle Walk through

Ok so on Friday as we rushed around Fantasyland I made Jade and Ds walk over to the castle to see what could be seen...and we talked to a very nice Security Person who said that the date had changed so many times...form Nov. to Jan to Feb and back to Nov.

He said "We know they are making progress and the what we remember as kids wont be the same... they're cooperating some of technology from Nemo" (Which the train conductor descriped as the never ending line.)

So the "Offical" word is Nov. sometime. (But that could have changed already )

If anyone who gets there when it opened and can get pics (without getting in trouble) I would love to seem...lol

Just thought Id let everyone know what we found out.

Actually here's something I can respond with. In very cool fashion, and timely fashion, the new release of the Sleeping Beauty 2 disc set (blue-ray) has a digital walkthrough of the attraction with some Immagineers. In fact, MOST of the attraction will be the same, with some plussing. In amazing fashion, most of the attraction remained during all of these years with it being closed. The glass/lightbending technology will be much the same. In fact, most of the glass and mirrors used to bend light WAS STILL IN THE ATTRACTION from years ago. They are simply plussing the scenes and the way it sounded on the DVD, most all of the scenes are the same. It was described that you'd remember it as the attraction from years ago if you saw it back then.

Also, one last thing I forgot. To explain that the attraction will be much like the previous one, the actual blue-prints from the previous version were copied in creating the new.

We bought the Blue Ray. when It came out on our trip. I'm gonna put in the special features disc and watch that first...then we'll have the skinny..lol

I vaguely remember walking thru it with the girls, but for the life of me I can't remember anything about it except it seemed very narrow for an Adult and I couldn't wait to get out of there. I don't remember dolls in scenes. If anything it seems like it was flat painted scenes on the wall of a cave.

I watched the virtual walk through on the sleeping beauty blue ray...and if its anything like that its will be awesome...I the walk through I went on was just the diharamas...what I didn't know was the original walk through opened the movie hadn't been released...it was still in development. One of the imgineaneers said some of the things in the walk through could have been originally planned for the movie but never made it in...

Gosh, when the castle reopens it will bring back a life and energy that has been lost around the castle since the closure in 2001. Just to see kids in line all excited at the base of the castle will be a welcome sight!

hahaha omg yes they were barbie and ken dolls....I will never forget that...I kept saying...wth were they thinking putting in a barbie and ken doll in a DL attraction...it does bring back such fond memories for me...and they would play music from sleeping beauty all the way through it...funny thing was it never was packed and most of the time I could walk in there and it was like my private haven...Im glad they decided to reopen it

They were larger than Barbie and Ken dolls. My favorite scene was when Aurora was dancing with the Prince at the end and the fairies changed her dress from pink to blue!

They werent Barbie dolls..but they were cute. If the walk through they are making is anything like what they showed on the DVD then its gonna be awesome...

Didn't they put a scene from it inside a shop window on Main Street for a while? It might have just been part of a scene, ANYWAY I cannot wait and WISH WISH WISH it would be open in time for my trip.
