info on san fransisco airport and customs

hi,
We are flying in from Australia and our first stop in the US is San Fran.
Apparently we have to collect our luggage, go thru customs, check our luggage back in and then get to the terminal for our flight to orlando in 2 hours! Does anyone know how long this process usually takes? Does it take ages to get thru customs there? Im worried we wont have time. Would appreciate some feedback on the airport process in San Fran. Thanks

It depends on the how many other flights have arrived at the same time, it has taken less than half an hour, another time nearly 2 hours.

Our travel agent over here tells us to always allow at least 3 hours between flights.

Looks like you will be there around the same time as me
