I decided to book this hotel with Hilton honors points. Does anyone know what king size bed poolside, exterior lanai area means? It was the only thing available for a reasonable amount of points.

I believe it means that instead of being in the main "traditional atrium" building where your door opens to the atrium (to the left), you will be on the "exterior lanai wing" where you will have a door open to the outside looking over the pool area. I think they call that wing the Lanai wing because they look like you have furniture there to sit on. But not really sure that is a balcony but to me looks like a wide walkway with furniture. I've only stayed inside atrium building.

Thank you for your response. I'm just hoping this will be a good spot.

Points makes it all seem good especially here since it should include the hefty resort fee. You will probably still have to pay for parking. And you can't beat their breakfast.

We haven't stayed at that one since rehab and fees but have stayed at all but one Orlando Embassy. These days we stay at ES LBV South.

Enjoy!!

We actually had originally booked the south one first but now I won't have a car for most of my stay and after calling both hotels about Disney shuttle schedule, it sounds like the south one won't be as good of an option. It also looks like the pool and out door activities are better but I will have to spend around 2500 more points per night. I was really relieved to hear that I would not have to pay extra for the resort fee when using points.

- No, south is a great option WITH a car so you chose right.
- The resort fee is to cover all those pool etc activities, we just don't use them.
- Look at your printout/receipt - it should say total charge. When you book "rate details" the resort fee should be missing, if you book for cash it will show up.
- We are Diamond and have never been charged resort fees on points.
- Parking fee never shows up, they deal with that on arrival.

I apologize for hijacking but would you all agree that the Buena Vista location is the best for Embassy Suites hotels? We need just one night, off property, after disembarking a cruise ship. We wanted a day to relax, drive to Disney Springs and enjoy the manager's reception in the evening. Can any of you recommend which Embassy Suites would be ideal? We will have a car. Thank you in advance!

I don't know for sure but I read that it was a 5 minute drive to Disney springs. Just be aware that there is ton of extra fees if you aren't using points. The Buena Vista South one is further away but doesn't charge all of the fees.

We LOVE the Embassy Suites brand and have stayed at all but one in Orlando.

If you are going to be staying for days, utilizing the outdoor water/sports areas and/or need transportation then the LBV location is a good spot because you will be getting full value for your daily resort fee and if no car you won't have to pay the parking fee. OR if they are running a good deal and therefore the extra fees still keep you lower than other locations. The renovation looks very nice but we have not stayed since then due to the fees.

If you are looking at one night (although I've stayed as long as 9) and very easy access to the Disney property then LBV South is a good location. No fees. It is smaller than the other, has outstanding service, beautifully appointed atrium and suites and in all our travels has the best Manager's Reception. They have more foods than we have ever gotten elsewhere. Assorted cheeses & crackers, fresh veggies and dip, homemade salsa with lots of goodies in and the regular stuff. The pool area is smaller but intimate and well done. From hotel to theme park or Disney Springs parking lot averaged us 10 minutes.

Yellow is Disney Springs. The red dot at the top right is LBV. It is a few turns and lights to get to DTD but you will enter via Hotel Plaza Blvd which can be very crowded. Our last stay at Disney Springs Doubletree (the last hotel on Hotel Plaza Blvd by 535) we actually left property, got on I-4 and exited to enter Disney Springs from the west to avoid the sitting traffic. The red dot at the bottom is LBV South, two lane roads with minimal traffic all the way in to property and approach to Disney Springs make exiting into parking garage a breeze. Basic path for each is green lines.

Both great hotels, just depends on what you need for your stay. Travel time is about equal or I'd give a nod to South due to all the traffic around Disney Springs Hotel Plaza Blvd & 535.

Wow! Thank you so much Hopper Fan! You have helped me so much.

I'm a Littled confused by the comments so far. Looking for a place to stay one night, two rooms for family of 6. We have reservations on site at disney the next day and just a nice place for the day we fly. The kids will want to swim and we need to eat but other than that, pretty straight forward. Everyone complains about the parking and resort fee at lbv, but the base rate is much cheaper than south so it seems like a non-event. Aaa rate at lbv is about $120 plus the parking/resort and lbv south is $180. I see that south is only a few years old but the other was remodeled in 2014 and gets great reviews. From pics, lbv looks more elaborate?

So for one night, a little pool time etc before we drive to our disney resort the next day, suggestions?

you may have already booked, but so far I agree with you. I actually just booked LBV for the same reasons. Either way I love their flexible cancellation policy so I can keep looking LOL

If the numbers work for you then go for it. I've never paid that much for LBVS. If it were $180 I would be staying somewhere else. I also wouldn't pay $120 plus the fees for LBV either especially for one night. Embassy is a great brand.
