I'm helping my mom with research for a cruise in November of next year.I need all the info I can get my hands on for Carrebian cruises(she's looking at the big lines and that includes Disney:) )

Glad you found us. Please ask your questions. I am sure you will get the answers.

Again welcome to the Cruise Board.

I'm in need of basic info, especially ports of call and the like.Airfare is out since mom is driving and the friend she's going with lives in Fl proper

As Robin said - welcome to the cruise board. As for basics - well I think most everyone here would agree that DCL is the way to go. You have a number of choices:

3 or 4 day cruises which go to the Bahamas. The 3 day leaves on Thursday gets back Sunday and you go to Nassau and Castaway Cay (Disney's private island). The 4 day leaves on Sunday and gets back on Thursday and you go to Nassau, Castaway Cay and either have a day in Freeport or a day at Sea (it alternates). Both of these are on the Disney Wonder.

7 day cruises on the Disney Magic sail Saturday to Saturday and alternate between an Eastern Caribbean (St. Martin, St. Thomas, Castaway Cay and 3 days at Sea) and a Western (Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Castaway Cay and 2 days at Sea)..

Carnival sails out of Port Canaveral as well with pretty much the same options and ports (except Castaway Cay of course).

Holland America sails the Zaandam on 7 day Eastern and Western cruises in Winter only.

Royal Caribbean sails the Sovereign of the Seas on 3-4 day cruises and coming in November of 203 will be doing 7 day cruises on the Mariner of the Seas (Eastern & Western Caribbean).

There is also a small ship called the Mirage that offers 2 and 3 day cruises to the Bahamas and Key West.

Hope this helps!

so far so good:) I'm looking at all options but not too big on the Easten for now.Any way to save money is good as well since mom does save on airfare(she's driving and her friend is a Florida native so no need:) )

good point and I'll tell mom that:) I'm looking into every part of the trip and I know they'll save on airfare as it is;)

what kind of codes are there? I'm also looking into all aspects since this is my mom and female friend taking the cruise

Keep in mind that Disney does not have gambling aboard. But their shows are great. Your mom and her friend will enjoy cruising in the fall better than in the summer months, the ships are not as crowded a few less kids. I would not recommend Thanksgiving week though. Her friend should make the ressies to get the Fla. resident discount.

I got a date for sometime in Nov(vacation time a factor and not Turkey day week)
