We have finally purchased at BCV after travelling since 2000 and now realize that we should have done it sooner.:confused3 We are looking for lots of suggestions, help, information, tips, etc. to get us into this new venture smoothly. We are travelling 10/7/10 through 10/17/10 and are staying in a two bedroom villa at BC and would like some comments from previous tenants who stayed in a two bedroom at BCV. What do we need to know. Where can we shop for food since we are not having a car with us. This DIS Board always has lots of information and well experienced travellers, so I am looking for all the tips any one can provide. What about Owner's Lockers?? Thanks for all your help.:thumbsup2

Welcome home! :grouphug:

Lots of people use Garden Grocer. There's another service whose name I don't recall. At any rate, both will shop for you and deliver right to the resort. We've used neither as we always rent a car. BC Marketplace also has the basics at high prices but not really too bad for most things. I wouldn't buy diapers, H20, soda or beer there though. But if you will be dining out for most meals and need only a few things, it could work.

I think Owner's Locker is a great service. If you try a search there were some threads in the past about things people store in their OL. We have close family in the area who store a container for us so we don't have OL but would in a heartbeat otherwise.

A 2 BR at BCV for 10 nights.....:cloud9:

PP mentioned Garden Grocer. WeGoShop also delivers groceries to the hotels.

Also, I believe you can place an order for groceries from the BC Marketplace (near the lobby of the hotel) and the hotel will bring the items to your room. Check on the DVC member website - I'm pretty sure I saw the list there. Even if you don't want to pay to have the items brought to your room, the list will tell you what is available in that store.

If you have a towncar pick you up at the airport rather than doing Magic Express, many of the towncar companies allow you a 30 minute grocery store stop. We love Tiffany Towncar.

If you like pastry items for breakfast, you can stop at one of the bakeries, such as the one on the Boardwalk, and pick up something to eat the next day.

The Owner's Locker website has a list of things that people keep in their lockers.

We stayed in a BCV 2BR and enjoyed it. If you haven't stayed in a 1BR or 2BR before, you'll find that there's a big "wow factor" when you open the door and walk inside. The kitchen/living room area look great if you're used to a regular hotel room.

I suggest that you walk over to the Dolphin and rent a car from Alamo for the day. You can shop at Publix, Winn Dixie, Walmart, pick up all your favorite groceries and buy anything that you forgot to pack. Usually with a Alamo discount code, the car will be less expensive than delivery.

Don't forget good 'ole UPS! When we fly, the last few trips we've shipped a box of non-perishable basics (from paper products, to dry/canned goods as well as our trusty Brita pitcher). [Picked this tip up from DIS boards by the way]. Allow at least 4 days or more depending where you're coming from.

Then,as PP suggested, we use towncar service and make a grocery stop for perishables, soda/beer, etc. If you do the Brita pitcher, you can buy a 12 pack of water and just wash/refill the bottles... and the pitcher will pay for itself after a couple visits.. just like DVC!:thumbsup2
They will stowe these items along with your luggage when you arrive.. just indicate which items need cold storage.

If I could ask additional BCV questions: where are the quietest rooms? And what are the rooms with the best views?

We are staying in May and would love some suggestions. Thanks and sorry to barge in on this thread!

BCV was built in the parking lot of the Beach, no great view. I would simply ask for a higher floor they are quieter.
