Well, after being told by Radio Disney that you would be able to hear the concert from around the wave pool we decided to take the day off to take DD8 to hear Hannah Montana. We arrived around 9:30 and the park was already real crowded. We took a look around and found a nice place to camp out right in front of the wave pool near the fence that blocked off the concert area. We had a good shot of the stage but let me tell you it was HOT!! They were passing out water to those in the concert area and thay were throwing out wet washcloths to our area trying to keep people cooled off. Around 10:30 they announced that they were going to be giving out wristbands for people to come into the concert area because not enough people showed up. So we went and got 4 and were allowed in. We stood in a shaded area and had some palm trees blocking our view so I had to lift up my DD to see anything. But she was very excited. The mom standing next to me said they just got to TL and were on of the last people let in. They closed the park down around 10:30.

Miley came out a little after 11:00 and sang maybe 3 or 4 songs before she left the stage. She had a band and some dancers. If the band really wasn't playing, you couldn't tell. According the schedule of the taping that we saw posted she was supposed to come back out at 1:00 to sing a few more songs. We figured that we had plenty of time to eat, swim a little and then come back. Wrong, we just finished up lunch, luckily right behind the concert area when we heard them announcing her. It was around 12:00. She came out and did the same songs that she did during the first set. I think they brought her out early due to the extreme heat. She was only out for about 15 minutes and then it was over. They kept the crowd there a little bit longer to get some more filming and by 1:00 they were tearing everything down.

We did see Miley during our trip down the lazy river. They were interviewing her near a building by the lazy river and everyone going down the river was screaming and waving. I lifted DD up so hopefully she was on camera.

It wasn't a "concert" as advertised. Like another Diser said this was a film shoot. And it was very hot and they made adjustments for that. But my DD was thrilled to be there and even my DS4 had a good time. I am glad we got to see her sing even if it was just a few songs.

There were alot of people with Hannah Montana lanyards walking around, I assume these were contest winners. I think she was having an autograph session probably with just the winners.

In the gift shop they had a Hannah Montana in concert t-shirt, hat and pin. Of course because DD was so thankful that we took the day of to do this, she got all three. And on the way out of TL they were giving away autographed posters of Hannah Montana and DD was luckily to get one of the last ones.

All in all it was a good day. DD was very happy. It was very crowded, even more crowded then on Saturday's which is the day we usually go. But we had a good time.

Glad you guys had a great day!

DS was begging to go, but I said no, we had just gone to TL on that Wed and I didn't want to be there while they were filming b/c they CM's said they would be at full capacity soon after park opening.

Anyway I have one very mad little boy right now because I didn't take him to see Hannah Montana. Oh well, he'll get over it , right LOL

Oh wow! I love Hannah Montana although my 12 yr old DS Erich isn't impressed with her....good...I can wait a year or so on the whole "I like girls " thing! ;)

Sounds like you had an exciting day! :cool1:

Sounds like fun (except the heat). On a similar note. I took my to DD's to Disney about 2 years ago. My wife stayed home with infant son. Anyway, we were on the bus to go to MGM and started talking to a family next to us. She mentioned that Raven was there that week performing at the Beauty & The Beast stage. My girls were thrilled. We found out that after they show she signs autographs next door. My youngest has mild autism and has some issues with the heat & crowds. When we got to the park I spoke to someone in Guest Services. I told them about her problems. All I had asked is if their was some way that they can keep a space for her in the shade until its her turn. Normally, I would wait on the lines and my wife would keep her until we got to the front of the line. But, since she wasn't there..I was in a pickle. The CM was very nice and spoke to her supervisor. She then tells me to go to the show and then right after meet her by the side gate. We do and she brings us behind the gate and waited with us until Raven arrived to go the signing. Raven was very nice signed an autograph and took a picture with us. It made my DD's day. My older daughter was so grateful. She has had to put up with a lot of stuff because of her sisters issues. That she wrote a little note to the CM who helped us. When we brought it to her. She was so touched. She said its nice to get thanked when they usually only hear complaints.
