infant carseat question

Flying to Disney with a 6 month old. We do not plan on driving anywhere but to and from the airport (Mears). Do they require a carseat? Do they provide one? Thanks!

I dont believe airlines rent carseats or provide one (we always brought ours - we always have a car rental) and bringing ours became second nature after the 2nd trip with the kids. Does Mears charge a rental fee or provide a car seat ?

Are you gonna have your child on your lap or in a paid seat? If you didnt pay for a seat and you bring a carseat - Ask the desk if the flight is booked, They cant store the carseat (only "strollers") in the small cabinet on the passenger deck and they will have to bring the seat all the way back to the initial check-in to have it put in the cargo hold. If its not booked, mabye your lap will get a break - hehe.

As far as I know, Mears neither requires nor provides car seats (FL law does not require them to be used on "public" transportation).

That said, I urge you to bring your own. Most airlines will allow you to purchase a seat for your infant at half price. Your baby will be safer and more comfortable in his/her own car seat. If, God-forbid) something happens (air turbulence, traffic accident, etc.), you will be very glad you put your precious child's safety above saving a few $$. Best wishes - enjoy your trip!

Hi,

Last year we took Tiffany Towncar. They provided a car seat for our 5 month old DGS, (which we requested in advance).
On our return to the Airport, the carseat was there! But I haven't taken Mears.

We used Yourride and an infant seat was provided. If you use a towncar service, just be sure it's noted on the reservation and make sure you specify you want a rear-facing infant seat.
