Hi everyone, heading down to Universal in May and my dd has asked if she can buy her 4 good friends a gift to bring back for the WWOHP. I am wondering if any of you have any suggestions. I am thinking about 5 bucks each or less and they are all 13. thanks in advance for any and all advice

I'm not sure about $5 each or less. I only went into the candy shop, but I can tell you all that I saw was about $10 each. Choco frogs, mint toads, bernie botts jelly beans, stuff like that. I would say a keychain or something similar but have a feeling it is a little more then $5 each as well. Good luck, hope you find something!

In the Owl post you can get HP postcard, HP postage stamp and then get it postmarked with Hogwarts.

i sent you a pm to a website that lists the items and pricing on most items.

ohh I'd be interested in that link, are you not allowed to post it here? I'm mainly interested to know how much wands are going to set me back, since that's all the kids are talking about now!

sorry OP I have no suggestions, we are going for the first time in May.

Really there aren't many things that you can get at any theme park for $5. I'd say the post cards. I think they were around $1 each.
The candy is not cheap.
You can get a cute bottle of Pumpkin Juice that has the HP stuff on it and a pumpkin on top but it is around $7.
Key chains 6-7, Magnets are around $7.
If you want something that specifically says WWOHP then the postcards with the postmark are probably your best bet.

Wands are right around $30.

There is an online store at Univeral's web site, not everything they sell is there but they do have wands and you can get an idea of the prices.
There's also the "official HP site" just enter Harry Potter into a general search, but on the whole that is more expensive.

Honeydukes chocolate bars cost $4.50 and a jar of Pepper Imps cost $5. Both are tasty, and if the kids are fans of Harry Potter, they will recognize the products. I would probably recommend the Pepper Imps (cinnemon flavored candies) because they come in a nice glass jar that can be kept and used for other things.

Honeydukes carries Sugar Quills (lollipops shaped like a quill pen) for about $3 - they come in all different colors and are straight from the books. They also have a Dark Mark lollipop that I thought was pretty funny - I mean, the Dark Lord's mark made into a sugary treat? - but maybe not such a girl thing. They have several other lollipops in the $3-4 range.

Filch's also carries a four-pack tumbler set with one glass for each Hogwarts house for $12.95 - that turns out to be a pretty good deal.

Thanks amillion to everyone who has posted-some amazing ideas and I also think the "Dark Mark" lollipop is funny!Might have to get one of those for my self, just to see how it tastes to be bad!!!:rotfl2:

I bought three of the dark marks myself (blue, red, purple). They were really good. The Pepper Imps are delicious too. My family tore them suckers up, lol.

If you don't want it to get pricey I'd stick with getting candy, key chains or pins. They range from $5 to $10. Most things are over $5 though. There are quite a few things that are like $9.95 though.

I convinced dd to go with Postcards mailed from the Owl Post with the special postmark. She originally wanted to do cheap gifts but after talking with some of her friends, realized they actually thought the postcard or letter from Owl Post was better. She is planning on bringing a green pen, so her letters will have the green ink like Hogwarts letters in the books. We'll see if she changes her mind when we are actually there, but that is the plan for now.

I would love that link as well please! That would be great for pre-budgeting! ;)

Something that we got were bags of the Sour Worms from Honey Dukes....oh so good!!!! We gave those along with a Wizarding World postcard with Harry Potter stamp and Hogsmeade cancellation.

They were a hit and had the Honey Dukes' logo. Another idea are the Hogwarts patches sold but can't remember what the cost was for that.

A friend of mine got back from Universal and said the postcards and stamps were crazy expensive?? What are the price on these?

Maggie
