I'm looking for recommendations for inexpensive (under $50) sport sunglasses that won't bounce around when I run. I usually run in a visor, but on sunrise runs (including rD events), the visor doesn't help much with the sun in my eyes. I found some online (I think the brand was Julbo?), but they are over $100. And I know how frequently I will loose, scratch, or crunch my sunglasses so I try not to spend too much money on them. I sweat a lot so I need something that is design for wearing while doing an activity, but I'd like to find a pair that doesn't look like giant goggles :)

I've had good luck with CHEAP ($10-15) from Walmart and Target. Even at that price, you can get polarized lenses which really help with the glare. The rubbery ones, either the whole earpiece or just the inside of the earpiece, don't slip, even with heavy sweating. Just make sure they say 98%+ UV protection. I'm sure these are not as optically good as more expensive ones, but what difference does it make when they're covered with sweat, salt, Vaseline, etc?

At that price, I just throw them in my running bag and stuff them in my pocket. It's not a disaster if they get broken or lost. I couldn't take the worry of having a more expensive pair. They will last 2-4 years.

At Walmart, sometimes they are in the hunting and fishing section in sporting goods.

Stay away from any with metal doodads, as they will corrode.

I agree with cheap ones! As long as they are comfy. Mine don't seem to slip when I sweat, but I have a big nose and big ears to hold them on, haha. And I love running with sunglasses anytime it's at all bright out. I find a hat or visor makes me feel like a horse with blinders on, but my eyes are fairly sensitive to light, so it's nice to have something.

Tifosi brand have received some good reviews in the past for value running/cycling glasses. The "Slip" is under $50 on Amazon. However, I don't think their lenses are polarized at the cheaper price points, but they are UVA/B coated.

I got a pair for $20 at the Princess Half Expo last year. I didn't wear them for most of the race because it was overcast, but I've worn them on long runs since and they're comfortable.

I use 3M $8.97 dark safety glasses from Lowes.

If I were to purchase Oakleys they would disappear, scratch or get crushed in minutes.

Check out Flying Fisherman.
Cheap enough that you won't care when you lose/destroy them, and decent quality for the price.

Active Sol sunglasses. I bought a pair in 2013 at the TOT10 Miler expo and LOVE THEM. $20 :cool1:

Frequently you can find inexpensive pairs at running expos in the $10 to $25 range. Have had mixed results with these, usually lightweight and comfy but had a few lenses pop out.

Have also found some very nice sunglasses at Bass Outdoor World in the $19-$29 range. UV protection, lightweight, the works.

No longer bother with the $100 + pairs since those tend to break, scratch or get lost. I can't get rid of the cheapos.
