Most of the Epcot restaurants seem expensive. Are any a little on the lower priced side? Was thinking of doing a late lunch at somewhere romantic.

I don't think any restaurant in Epcot is inexpensive,,,,,
try lunch instead of dinner..
if I had to pick one that I thought might be the most reasonable, it would be Mexico....

would you consider a few appetizers and splitting the main course? that might reduce the bill a bit...

we like 9 dragons (in china) and found the prices to be reasonable and the portions to be plentiful... i believe they have a sampler meal for two that runs about $30 here's their lunch menu: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_9dl.htm

A late lunch is your best bet, as you put it already. :) Try Teppanyaki, it's in Japan in the World Showcase, great food, Japanese cuisine obviously, but they cook it in front of you and can taylor it as you want it. Or the Coral Reef which is not in the World Showcase. The lower level is AMAZING, great atmosphere b/c your surrounded by the tank. :)

w/the oompah band happening, i would not call it "romantic" but it is reasonable...

OOMPAH BAND? That sounds funny.
:rotfl:

Ok I know DH hates chinese food so that's out of the question.
Mexican is a plus though.
And we can share a meal - is it pretty big size for sharing?

Chefs de France has their French menu at $14.95 and you get onion soup, ham & cheese sandwich and creme brulee. That's a pretty good price for a three course meal.

Also, at Le Cellier you can get really full just eating the cheddar cheese soup and their pretzel bread. That'll set you back $4.99

I really don't think Epcot restaurants are that expensive. Take Teppanyaki for lunch. For their chicken teppan entree it's $10.95. I know that when I go for lunch here in Akron, OH to a hibachi/teppanyaki place, it's $8.95 for the chicken entree. So Teppanyaki in Epcot is only $2.00 more but for that $2.00 is buying me atmosphere, location, service and quality. I would say that's a pretty good bargain.

FYI - the $10.95 price of the chicken teppan entree is from 2002. Lunch prices have all increased at Teppanyaki and are not much lower than the dinner prices these days.

DS13 & I are planning:
Coral Reef lunch
Teppenyaki late lunch
LeCellier late lunch
San Angel late lunch

I know lots of people love to walk around the World Showcase and just try something from each country at the walkup stands - it is not sitting down for a full meal but it gives you a chance to try different cusines from different countries without paying for a full meal - we also like to have a margarita in Mexico , a beer in England and champagne in France :flower:
