inexpensive gift and holiday meal suggestions

This is probably going to be our most frugal holiday season ever, and my oldest son and his GF are staying us for Christmas week and I really want to make it a special time. We have two younger kids that still live home. The fact that everything on our 26 year old house has needed replacing this year has taken its toll (waiting on the estimate for new heat/ac unit as I type this) We never buy on "credit" so we don't even consider that an option for us. Good food is probably more important than gifts....Thanks!!!

Are you talking about gifts for your son and his girlfriend? I'm not sure what you are talking about holiday meal wise. How many people?

You could do a big brunch thing for Christmas day and have appetizers and big dessert for Chrstimas Eve to keep it easy and relatively cheap.
