Inexpensive, double stroller rec

I have been debating what to get for our trip. I have a Phil& Ted but it's too big for our trip I think. I'm pretty sure I have decided to keep my eye out for a gently used Maclaren Twin Triumph.

We've had no troubles taking our P&T with us and it's packed up adn ready to go back with us when we leave tomorrow.

Thanks for all the advice and recommendations.

I have had this in the back of my head for days. I think we are going to get two strollers. First a jogging stroller for use at home when we take walks around the neighborhood, and at Disney on long days. And an umbrella stroller for shopping and for short jaunts around Disney. I am hoping to keep these purchases around $300 total. I am going to sell my Peg, so maybe I can make $100 on that.

Thanks for the advice! Much appreciated!

I have a sit n stand for my girls. They are 3 1/2 and 14 months old and we love it. It folds easy and is easy to push and steer (as far as doubles go.) My oldest loves the convenience of being able to sit, stand, or walk easily. Totally recommend the sit n stand. Wouldn't go to the mall (or anywhere else) without it.

we have a chicco single and LOVE itDD is almost 6 and still fits it fine
it is very light goes up and down fast

our favorite doubles especially for WDW are our P&T Sport with doubles kit or our Tike Tech City X3 double.

I have been looking at this one again and think it might be the one. It's 30" wide so it can fit through doorways and gets great reviews. I think I'd rather splurge on one, and get two cheap umbrella strollers we can attach for the few shopping trips we take (I say few because I'm not in any hurry to shop with a 3YO and an infant!:rotfl:).

Anyone else have any experience with this one? Thanks!

We got our Mac Triumph Twin from ebay. These seller is actually the Maclaren outlet store in the US (Seller - babyproductstore) They only have a few Twins listed right now...inventory seems to change weekly.

We went Sept 09 and took 2 Mac Volo's. We liked the ease of pushing just a single stroller. We got the stroller clamps to attach them together if one parent needed to man both. The stroller clips aren't the greatest, but they worked for short periods. I wouldn't do a Volo with a little one (doesn't recline) but some of the other Mac models do.

We are going again this September with DD5, DS2, and new baby (4 months)...so we'll be taking one Volo and the Triumph Twin this trip.

i had the baby trend with removable seat. It was good, but we got rid of it because it was too big and heavy. It hardly fit in my car and I had trouble lifting it. Plus when the back seat was in my son in the back had very little room for his feet, and it was really hard to get into the basket so that was pretty much unuseable

honestly my best double was the Combi- twin side-by side. I was able to fit through doors easily, the seats reclined fully, the baskets were good, the visors came down really far and the best part on the Disney Buses was that they have a Tri-fold so it got as small as a single stroller which made it very easy to get on the buses. (Plus a carry strap).
I got mine on Craigslist for only $85..

I had a Peg years ago with my oldest, and for all that I paid for it, even then, I hated it. Right now we are using a HUGE Graco duo glider because the baby is only 4 months (my daughter just turned 2) I like the Graco, but it is huge! For WDW (the baby will be 11 months by then and sitting up well) we are going with the Combi twin sport EX it is on clearance at www.albeebaby.com for $169.

I have had two Baby Trend Sit n Stand LX's. I love em. I can actually, ahem, fit all three of mine on there if I need to. I have a 5, 3, and 2 y/o. Walmart carries a cheaper BabyTrend for $99, but BRU has some for $139 and there's coupons for 20% off right now...so you can get it for just over $100!
It does weigh a little bit, but it folds up quite nicely.

Hi Allison
Take a look at
www.returnsforsale.com
They have some great doubles there that have been either overstock or returned. The doubles are all graded A or A+ meaning they were never used but returned. The mountain buggy is a wonderful stroller they have as well as BOBs for sale and they do have an instep for less than $200.

Also there is a strollerswap board on yahoo that can really help you with real life advice on most every stroller so you can get some good advice. Wosrt thing is whenyou end up with something you have paid a lot of $$ for and it wont hardly push.

HI,

I don't know if you already bought your strollers, but I just wanted to recommend, as others have, the Combi Twin. I had the single for my daughter and a double for my twins. It's great to use with an infant b/c there's a hidden safety boot and the seat lays flat. There's a flap of fabric under the seat that you can velcro over the bumper bar. This secures the opening so your baby is in an enclosed space. However, you do have to undo the fabric to fold the stroller-- very quick to do since it's velcro.

Combi makes the best travel strollers! They fold up easily, can stand when folded, has a carrying strap, and bumper bars w/cup holders.

The new version is even better because it has on larger basket below the seats, instead of two small ones under each seat.

Good luck!
