My Canon finally died. It never worked well after the beach.

Any suggestions of inexpensive point and shoot cameras? We have our trip coming soon and I need something that won't break the bank but takes great pics. I would like it under $100, under $75 if possible.

Have you seen any good deals lately?

There's a great site called 1saleaday.com that might interest you. It has sales on lots of items and changes every day. Each sale is for 24 hours, there are usually 5-6 sales a day. I bought a Kodak digital camera for $50 and it's been great. It's a refurbished model, which a lot of their items are, but I really love it. It's worth a shot, you may just have to watch the site for a while to get a camera, but they seem to show up quite frequently.

today in staples I saw a point and shoot for 29.99- very inexpensive 2.1 mp. I know that's fairly low but enough to take most 4x6 type pictures very nicely- look at the Black Friday scans online, I saw a few for less than 50.00 (kodak?) I might get one for my ds who needs one.....

We got DD18 a Kodak C183 Easy Share at Walmart on BF last year for $60..Its a pretty decent camera, takes great pix, has a big screen (almost the size of the camera) and one button share to facebook, etc. It's small enough to fit in her pocket and doesn't weigh much.

Just a FYI, Canon has a loyalty program where you can trade in your broken, etc camera for a refurbished one. In my experience, the refurbs are EXACTLY like new, except they come in a plain white box.

Cut and pasted from fatwallet.com forum:

This program allows you to replace your current Canon camera with a Canon refurbished product. The refurbished unit carries a 6 month warranty.

Taxes extra, shipping is $10 for 2-day delivery. You must return your old / defective camera (must be a Canon). Prepaid shipping label will be provided.

Call Tech Support at 866-443-8002 or 800-828-4040 to get started.
You will need the serial number of your current camera.
