Has anyone bought an inexpensive camcorder for their kids to use and have fun with? DD would love one for Xmas to make movies w/ her friends, but I'm not putting out big $$.

There is a DXG 565V for about $100. that I have seen and am wondering if anyone knows anything about this or any other inexpensive one

thanks a bunch

We have a Flip Ultra and I really like it. Can't get much simpler than that, and they are usually around $120 on Amazon.

We bought kodak zi6 for our upcoming WDW. We have used some and really like the size and the HD picture is amazing. The only thing I don't like is no optical zoom. But as long as you are not taking video from hundreds of feet away it is fine. It was around 160 I think; I got on QVC on 5 easy pays;) .

try a local photo store... they usally have refurbished ones cheap. I got mine for 50 bucks. I babyied it and still have it. I got mine at 10 to film movies with my freinds. Whatever you do keep at least one or two of your childs movies for latter in life. I just wacthed one of my and my DSis being cops in my basement. It was so funny. then again we also got the cops called but thats a seprate story....

:rotfl: :rotfl: I love that!

This is a great idea. She just wants to have fun w/ friends and I dont want to worry about a "nice" camera. $$ are very tight but if I could do this for under $100 it would be a very fun gift

It is a fun gift and if she takes care of it, It can be used again in high school (our school does a movie project). really fun if your child has "dress up" clothes (or you let her raid your closet). Just remember to get extra tape (or cds or whatever the heck goes in a new camera)

We've got a flip (the older version with the removable batteries). So far so good- I still need to learn how to edit the video on the computer and put it on a DVD, but the video is GREAT from the camcorder to the TV. :cool1: And it was only 118 some odd bucks!

Try the rca small wonder (amazon for $90) it is like the Flip but you can also use a memory card with it to expand the memory (like a digital camera). My daughter (11) loves hers and makes movies with her friends all the time. She edits them on the computer also. She also likes that it is small to carry in her purse!

Last year we got a great Canon camcorder on sale at Best Buy. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but does take great footage. Our DD4 uses it all the time, and it's so fun to see the results!!! :rotfl:

LOL... our DD4 will film almost anything! She loves to "interview" anyone that walks in the door! We bring the camcorder on hikes so she can capture a sunrise on the beach, or a deer in the woods. We have found that the video is so much better, because then we can take the stills and use only the good shots to print out as pictures.

The camcorder has been banned from the bathroom...and the one tape she tried to make distroyed!:rotfl2:

I'm also in the market for one but mine is mainly for doing reviews and such. I don't want to spend a lot of money. Does the disposable ones have a cd that you can download to your computer?
