Hi,

Unfortunately, it is going to be VERY hot next week! Any recommendations for indoor casual lunch places in DCA? We always have eaten outside there. We already have a lot of expensive table service reservations during our stay, so we'd like some casual ideas. We have little kids. Thanks!

Those are the only two I can think of, besides Ariel's Grotto (character lunch). If you sit at the wharf, often you can have a nice breeze off the water, and sit in the shade.

Wine Country- is it all outdoors? I forget...

Back by Paradise Garden Grill and Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta is a nice shaded area. Many times it is calm and refreshingly away from crowds....and shaded! AND the skewers from Paradise Garden Grill are GREAT!

Thanks for all the ideas! As much as the atmosphere at Flo's seems great, the food isn't really our style for a hot August day! We will probably try Smokejumpers, but I'll keep all these ideas in mind!

Maybe get a snack and take it into animation academy to eat? It might be hard to do with a whole tray of food but you could easily grab a hot dog from award wieners or a smoothie and enjoy in there while waiting for crush or something else. Another idea is to eat while watching the new frozen show at the Hyperion.

I'm out of it. Forgot smoke jumpers too.

No food allowed inside animation academy or theater.

They were allowing food (and selling it) inside the theatre a few weeks ago.

I was definitely taken aback. And sad because I didn't need to have scarfed down my popcorn and frozen tests from the pre-show nearly as fast as I did.

That's sad. It's going turn into a dump.

We always like White Water Snacks. Good escape from the crowds at the parks. Easy access too.

We enjoyed the shaded area as well. Yummy skewers from Paradise Garden Grill! :) I tried the chicken and my DH tried the steak. If I remember, there was some entertainment during lunch time- jazz performers.
